    1. Original belt buckle with the Cuban shield printed and the initials (C.V.P) this stands for ( Cuerpo de Vigilancia Y Proteccion) POLICE. This buckle is rare because it was only fabricated at the beginning of the 60's. It measures 2' X 2 3/8' inches

    3. Unfortunately, I can only identify the second line of the ribbon bars: Medalla conmemorativa "20 Anniversario des las FAR" (left) and Medalla conmemorativa "20 Anniversario" (right).

First line from left to right: 1. 2. maybe not Cuban awards? 3. Maybe soviet - 20 years in WW2 victory (1965), 4. maybe - 50 years to Soviet armed forces (1967). Ribbons are the same, Cuban army officers was awarded by Soviets. When studied in soviet war universities, etc.

    4. I dont know about Nucleares 15anos. Maybe it exists in stock, but I have never seen it.

Similar is with Nucleares 10anos. Almost all medals are with incorrect ribbon.

My opinion: its a big problem to collect all Cuba medals. If there was 2 Cuba hero stars on auction, it means that 2 people can own them. Not more. This is the same thing - impissible to collect all. I think that serious collection can be completed only with original items, no copies or restrikes. It not american style of award making and collecting. It comes from Ussr. :)

    5. It is possible, if you have the cash flow :D and you can still find 1 of each ! where there is money, there is a medal! lol

I dont thnik that is possible to buy ORIGINAL Cuba Hero star.

There are only about 60 pieces. And so high award is not possible to buy from awarded personb or his family.

But almost half of all Socialist Cuba collectors have this star! How can it is possible? Answer is simple - copies, restrikes!

Who have in collection Obras Nucleares 15 anos? Please show pic!

      best regards.

    6. Another symbolic rank is the "Comandante". This rank is higher than the "General del Ejército" but lower than the "Comandante de la Revolución".

      Here an example:

Thank you very much for explanation.

I thought that shoulderboards on last picture is higer level than A. Bosque.

This is "Comendante en Jefe", but A.Bosque has "Comendante de la Revolucion" shoulderboards.

So "comendantes" shoulderborads only for retired offcers?

Fantastic pictures, last one with hero star + Playa Giron order + ribbons...

    7. Nice photo with Castro brothers.

Raul is wearing ARMY GENERALs uniform.

Fidel is wearing field uniform, only with COMENDATNTE EN JEFE shoulderbords.

Question: Why Raul is wearing generals uniform if he became a COMENDANTE DE LA REVOLUCION in 1958?

    8. BTW, looks like unissued buckles were totally overpainted. I have found a needle-head-sized spot of paint on the face, which is a remnants of original paint.

My Cuba belt buckle is painetd for all sides.

    9. Medalla "Combatiente Internacionalista" (I) Council of State reverse

Medalla "Combatiente Internacionalista" (I) FAR reverse

Medalla " Combatiente de la Lucha Clandestina" Type 1 (Matt finish)

Medalla " Combatiente de la Lucha Clandestina" Type 2 (Staybrite finish)

Combatiente Internacionalista with FAR reverse I have never seen. Can you show pics please? FAR on reverse I saw only on 20 yeras FAR.

    10. Raul Castro during the Revolution wearing "Teniente" ranks:

      attachicon.gifraulyoung.jpg

This is Comendante rank. Raul became Comendante in 1958, 27 february. Under decrete of Fidel Castro at this day was founded new column which planned to invade in North Oriente and open second war line. Raul was appointed as leader of this column.
