here a picture of a chaplain with a Belgian War Cross of 1915.

This cross wasn't a decoration, but just a sign of the religion of the chaplain.

Hello Jef,
Sorry to be a spoilsport but ...
Picture 2 :
- 1st medal : another Service Star bar I'm afraid.
Cheers,
Hendrik
Hendrik was probably in a hurry or wasn't awake that morning
The first victory medal in picture two is correct! The black enamaled bar was created for the law of 17 march 1920 wich defined that mothers of deceased soldiers or civilian officials who where in service could wear their decorations. On 21 april 1920 there was a supplement ( Koninklijk Besluit ) that discribed the black bar for the deceased children.

That's an acceptable explenation.
For those who can't make out that makers mark I've outlined it.

That's stange, becouse I have the french Officer in the order of Leopold II wich is marked with the arrows and is in a Wolfers box. I have a knight in the order of the crown wich is marked with the arrows and is in a box from Wolfers and I have a real golden miniature of the workersmedal wich is marked with the arrows and sits in a box of Wolfers.
Can you give me an explenation for this?

where would I find these "crossed arrows"
On the ring, next to the silver mark. The crossed arrows is the makers mark for Wolfers

two officers made by Wolfers (crossed arrows). A Flemish one and an official French one.

I think that crown is to bombastic. "Less is more" I would think. I went to Copenhagen a few weeks ago, but I didn't visited the castle. I visited the artilely and uniforms museum Tojhusgade. Also a nice one withe a few viterines with more modern decorations and orders and lots and lots of weapons.
But I have to warn you guys, don't hurt you over there, becouse the guards don't know first aid and the first aid box is for the show: the desinfectant/cleaning tissues where absolutly dried up! As a result of that I got a nasty infection and couldn't work for a week
afteral I kept good memories about Copenhagen and I'll go back in the future.
I like this Ironcross of 1830. It has a design I've never seen before.

off course it's from an other producer, look at the other side: totaly different monogram and leafs, but the way of pasting the star on the medal is about the same.

a few months ago there was one for sale at ebay for 25000 euro. I love them, but I don't have 25000 to spent on such a nice vehicle and I don't have the space to ceep it safe also.
rare vehicles!

I didn' find them. Much to my spite, I had to buy them. ;-)
I have some Belgian medals, but a collection is never complete and so does mine.
this is the bronze medal I spoke off earlier. There has been some figure beneeth the star, becouse the horizontal lines don't run from side to side, they stop and go further a fraction of a mm higher or lower. and above that they soldered the star.

P.S. I just love that chocolate dark bronze patina, don't you?

I've always founded the knight cross in the middle of post 57 the most beautiful. Does someone know who made them?

Hello, this aren't medals, but they are from my collection and are on my comuterfiles, so they are easy posted. I've got a similar medal as Guy, but I have to scan it. I'll post it in a while...
