Yes it is the production till 1916 with golden medaillons by Weiss.
Very nice officers-bar. The MVO has a fine, old patina with its own caracter.
Typical bavarian bar, the MVO is in front of the prussian EK.

Gratulation,
you've got a early 1914 bavarian MVK second class with swords.
Manufacturer of this nice cross was Jakob Leser.
Regards Andreas1 -
very nice collection.
What is the difference between the silver bar and the bar with swords?
regards Andreas0 -
There are no different classes.
Pure economic reasons were the reason for the changeover.
From the end of 1916, the crosses were only given in the version of silver gilt.0 -

Hello,
the MVK is a bad fake, the enamel looks awful. The Jubileemedal is also bad.

Hello,
the medal looks good, but I think the ribbon and the bars are not from WW1.
It is the first threetime-bar I see. I only know the single and the double bar..
I thougt the bar is only for the silver medal not for the bronce medal.0 -

Hello Pete,
he also got the bavarian servicemedal for 9 years and the woundbadge black. His las rank was Feldwebel
He died on the 15. Dec. 1943.
My english is to bad, to give you a correct translation.
He rescues three infantrymen, which were spilled in a mine funnel (Minentrichter)
During the rescue, only with spades, they were attackd by enemy artillery.
At any time, a hostile counter-attack had to be expected.cheers Andreas

On the End of war there were four manufacturer, Leser, Hemmerle, Deschler and Weiß.
Lauer produces till 1916. I think that's the reason why Lauer has only blue boxes.
In 1916 something changes for the bavarian decorations, the golden parts would be silver guilt,
the ribbons become smaller and the boxes change to a simply red box.
It would be interesting to know the productions of all manufacturers and all classes in the seperate years of war.
Regards Spolei

the first time i have heard of a one piece cross if you don't mind sharing your knowledge.
what years were they made?
only by Weiss or did others try this variation?
Are these award pieces or a private purchase
For the lower rank soldiers i think these are nice awards.
regards,
chuck
Hello Chuck,
the onepiece cross were made in the 1918s.
The manufacturers had to produce cheaper decorations,so they made one-piece crosses with seperate swords.
Weiss made only a few of copper ( non ferrous metal) with copper swords third class with swords and crown/swords.
Deschler startet with copper crosses and change to zink crosses with iron swords.
The third Class with crown and swords is rare.
In my collection ther is a coppered zinc-cross with swords.
Here some examples
Deschler zinc coppered, zinc crown swords.
Deschler coppered ( look at the backside agraffe) and Deschler zinc.0 -

Hello Chris,
Thats no Reichswehr, I think Police.
The short sword was used by the borderpatrol and police.0 -

Couldn't be the red / green ribbon the Golden Wedding Medal? It has the same ribbon and was awarded in 1918
Yes it os possible.
The Jubilemedal was awarded 1905 and the Prinz-Regent-Luitpold-Medal 1911 -1912.
The golden wedding-meddal in 1924 with the same ribbon as the jubileemedal

Hello,
there are several decorations possible. The Beamtenband was given for noncombattants for all classes of the MVK also
to the fourth and third class of MVO.
Instead of the Jubiläumsmedaille could be the Luitpoldmedaille 1911, which was awarded with a red ribbon for civilans and the red/green ribbon for military persons.
The blue ribbon could be for the Treuedienst Ehrenzeichen 25 and 40 years.
Here my Beamten-bar.0 -
Very nice grouping.
Now I have found the original thread.
The bar is made by the bavarian manufacturer Hemmerle.
