    1. In a few words some explanations to this issue.

There were two different sizes of the medal just to make a difference between Germans and natives. A native couldn’t get the same medal as a German.

The Emperor signed the deed of foundation on June 13th 1912.

The first medals were issued in March/April 1913, the last in 1918. Everybody who was involved in one of the conflicts according the battle list had to apply for it.

The only native soldiers who received the medal were Cameroon police troops for a conflict in 1912. No medals could be issued to natives for a conflict before Ponape 1910/11. This information’s were taken from German state archive.

    2. Harald von Linde-Suden had to stay in DOA until 1918. He was wounded in 1916 and put into a POW camp in Tabora. In 1918 he return to Germany via Switzerland. As far as I know he did not receive an EK II, but I'm not sure about it.

The clasp DOA 1912 was for two actions:

      26.-27.3.1912 Expedition gegen die Wambulu

8.4.-20.5.1912 Expedition gegen Ndungutze und Bassebja in Nordruanda

Both were carried out by the police troop.

    3. ...

Its interesting to see this clasp on a bar, as many soldiers didn't mounted the Seymour-Expedition clasp on their bar, as this clasp is for a lost "action" and with that, the only clasps of the China medal, which was given for a non victorious engagement.

The wearer of this medal bar didn't like Seymour, too. Instead of wearing the Seymour clasp he prefered two clasps of battles within the expedition.

    4. These were brought to my attention. There is such wickedness in the world. :shame:

      1)

Screaming minty fresh ribbons which neither the munched to bits backing (saggy from being removed and BADLY resewn probably from this original bar which has been scalped to make the forgery) nor the age of the devices matchs. The purported ?M3K wreath is silly, being from a little ribbon bar, but we've seen original silly things before. The Baden Volunteer Nursing Cross ribbon is one sign that a "black-white X" colonial award is .... hey wait a minute...

and then we have the ribbon for the SMK.

Silly fakers!!!! The SMK roll has been DONE. Done AND printed. Nobody with the SMK got this combination. While there are combinations which could not be DISproven--since Rolls haven't been done-- THIS combination can be and IS disproven. Meiningen is a key award state:

      Rick,

Despite the fact the bar could be new, I really not sure about it, the combination is possible. At least the SMK together with the Prussian decorations.

    5. Bonjour,

No, I research the list of recipiendaires (251 attribution for peking and 512 for Seymour Expedition), I know what exists.

Furthermore I research the list of German units having fought in the different areas.

There are only 60 for the clasp PEKING because only the defenders of the legation were eligible to wear it. Nobody else. From the III. SB 51 soldiers and 9 of the personal of the legation. Minus 12 casualties makes a total of 48.

    6. Bonjour,

Research informations on the german troops (Navy and Army) being useful in Boxer rebellion in the various battles (Fouphing; Hophu; Huolu; Kalgan; Kaumi; Kitchou; Liang Hsiang Hsien; Peitang Forts; Peking; Seymour Expedition; Taku; Tienstin; Tsekingkwan),

And complete list on 251 german recipients on PEKING clasps, and 512 men recipients SEYMOUR EXPEDITION Clasps.

      Crdl

      Thierry

I am sorry, but what is this? A question or a statement? So you have a list with 251 Germans for the clasp PEKING and for the 512 participants of the Seymour expedition. Is this correct?

As far as I know some of those were kia (killing in action) and 251 are a little bit too much for Peking!

    7. Odd combination. The only colonial dceoration to go with the SWA  is from Mecklenburg (no "1914" under the "FF"?) but this appears to be from an officer in a 1908 Franz Joseph "Inhaber" regiment (Is that what the next to last medal is?)

Ah-- medal from CHILE last has been HAND MADE since no mini commercially available!!!! :jumping::jumping::jumping:

Well, the KrO4x is missing, the WF3bx ist colonial, too. The last one is Chile Centenial Medal 1910.
