Guys,
This may have been to an old boy rejoined as he has at least place for between 5 and 6 medal ribbons, sadly this is all there was and I was given these as they are 'junk'.
One jacket is very well made and similar to the TR jacket in lining construction.
One of the pair of trousers has the green piping one without but it is a bit darker?
The tie is plain black.
Badges are to the local Pz school in Munster.

Hello!
The collar numbers seem to be a X.24
2.Landsturm-Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon Aurich
Set-up 27.1.1915 in Soltau, the bataillon was a guard-unit for POWs
That would fit as I am just South of Soltau and these were at a local fleemarket.
Tony, most all cards I pick up are used and posted, the only exception I make is if they are unusual. I am in a new job now and currently have less time on my hands than before so I will from now on only post the obverse unless any one has a specific interest.

Sorry it is off to a German pal that collects 'staybright' shite.

I didn't even notice that it is perhaps a coffin or more by the looks? Perhaps the burial of some WW1 German soldiers that had been found and then with German representatives? Don't know just though just thought they were interesting.

Bernhard,
I don't know, but the diplomatic corp had me thinking some sort of visit together with the fact the 'enemy' is armed (pre war?) and the senior German looks to be in ceremonial dress? Not sure but I am always interested in your input on these things since you were around then and often see things through different eyes.

I know a bloke down Paderborn way that collects KDF stuff, I am sure he would like to see this so I will copy the picture to him. I swap all my KDF with him as it is not really my bag. It is the first time I have seen this sort of ID but then that does not say much as I am sure there are tons of things I have not seen LOL.

They all were kids really!

UK, we tend to only get the medal as far as I know, I have a couple of boxes and I have just posted up the only bit of paper I got from my time in the Allied section.

My boss got the QCVS as Battery Commander of J (Sidi Rezegh) Battery, 3rd RHA for Telic. I got this, what I consider to be a 'lucky bag' award for coordinating the IDFs and Air/Avn (running the Fire Planning Cell) for the Black Watch Battle Group Main HQ. My pals did the same job and got nothing for it so I feel rather embarrassed about it. I suppose it will have interest to British military collectors as it is not that often issued I think? I do feel in my case they were going through the motions though, they had to give someone something!

Never got any paper with mine except the 'chocolate medals' (cheap print out)? Have I missed something I can claim from the Government?

Not my area but the ones that I have seen online are much cleaner on the reverse and the front view is not the best through the glass but even so the edge of the swastika arm at the 9 o clock looks to merge with the oak leaves? My shout and I say without ever having had one in the hand is that it is a cast copy for the above stated reasons?

Very lucky you spotted it, very pleased it is back home.

Alex,
Thanks for posting this, it is a shame we look after people better when they are dead but it seems we will never learn. I took some shots of German Denkmals while I have been out and about, perhaps we should have a thread just for that sort of thing if there isn't one already? I feel sorry for the Polish lad all on his own.

Its a Knights cross, whether it is right or wrong I don't know you would have to canvas opinion from the 'experts', looks a bit used so may have a chance on the other hand it looks to have had a paint job? I hope it is a correct one but I am always skeptical of any of these as there seems to be far more of them around than should have ever been produced not even taking into account all of those lost sunk in the U boat arm or lost shot down in flames etc. The fact no one has commented is probably a good thing?

Jerry,
Nice all the same, I find it quite common to be missing the picture? Any awards?

120RIR,
I can see you are an enthusiastic collector of this type of hardware, if you want to have the card for your collection then let me know where to send it by PM.
