If there are any left do you want me to get one?

Very unusual, I have seen plenty of post war type letters etc, really poignant since it is family!
Helps to close the loop!
Also as Chris states so close but yet so far!
I have noted at our local war graves cemetery at Becklingen in Germany many allied soldiers that perhaps served with 7 Div through Africa, Italy, D-day fought their way to the dying days and still lucked out at the end, what a waste!

Thanks for that Jock, I'm not a million miles from a Netto. I'll have a look. I really struggle to take decent close up photos and yours look spot on.
Glen,
It was Netto Germany, but I can have a look for you too, I am not sure of the normal retail price, maybe these things are much cheaper now?
It was there so I bought it but you may find something similar online for less?
I will have a look tomorrow if any are left as €20 is not bad?
Just to be clear you will not fit a whole award in but for ring stamps and detail on photos I have found it useful.

Where do you find a USB Microscope?
Chris,
You are down South, check out your NETTOs down there, it was a promotion item I think for kids going back to school in summer, can pick you one up if there are any left as they are now reduced to €20.

Guys,
Was going through the junk and found these again.
Thought the different types of material and colours were interesting.
The one with the green net sticking out, turned out to have a mosey-net in it, it looks like the soldier was a smoker as there is a eyelet that I think he has added?

Glenn,
It was cheap in Netto at €40, typically now reduced to €20.
Saves all that squinting and magnifying glasses.
I'm getting the hang of it now.

The devil is always in the detail but the braid on the HV looks like an SS type of thing or is this normal, I don't know?
My pals dad was HV, he still has his uniform, I will ask to photograph it for this thread (don't hold your breath as he lives in Hannover and has a second home near me) I recall it has the matching hats with it!

Mate,
As observed your pictures are of a bent one. From what I have read on 'the fora' there is a very linear outlook on what is correct so it is really easy for the people in the know to pick out the real deal.
Always be suspicious!
Happy hunting!

Guys,
I know this is a bit rude but what would be a fair price for it?
I am determined to contribute something to Ricks fund.

When you have finished are you going to rebuild the original board in English?
Wouldn't mind a picture for reference if you do.

Glenn,
This is all that I have found so far, I know there are a few more in the boxes somewhere, I don't know if these are your bag?
The black one is from 1939 and seems to detail the Westfalische VII Armeekorps, It lists all of the subordinate units and there is a table at the end with battles and casualty stats?
The brown one is I am sure you can see is about the 1870 war, it has a the rear a table of ORBAT down to Bde level, there are various maps of battles etc, more your bag than mine, If you want them let me know where to send them.
If you are ever up North, bend in if you can as I am sure there is a lot of archived stuff at Celle Museum.

German military Grave Report form
in Germany: Third Reich: Research, Documentation & Photographs

Coincidentally these were in a WP I got today, there appears to have been some sort of Allied desk that dealt with the closure aspect? I can't make out the end of the title. Letter is dated 10/6/46 and appears to confirm his burial site. With it is the war time family condolence card so they were well aware he was dead and it is obviously in the WP too.
