    1. Guys,

A spot of luck today, I have obtained 3 folders pertaining to the above stated course which was run at the Nebeltruppenhule Celle in Oct 1942.

It appears to be an asspirant officers entire course work covering NBC, Tactics, Politics, Military Dicipline,Logistics, etc.

The most interesting part for me is that they appear to have conducted live fire exercises at Bergen and Munster ranges, most of the OPs listed are in the modern impact area but it made me smile that this guy fired from Hengstberg OP and it is still used today.

It is a bloody miserable point in winter and it must have been more so without 'Goretex'.

Also he has kept examples of some of the technical Artillery proformas for survey, shooting, met etc.

There is a lot to go through bet I will post up a cross section of the course.

If anyone requires scans or more detail of a specific sections let me know.

      Cheers

      Jock:)

    2. Guys,

This is a bit morbid but it has the right look to be period.

It has no marking but the zip fastener on the surviving short zip is 'riri'.

Construction is blue grey sailcloth which has been rubberized on the inside.

Heavy duty leather handles that are stitched and riveted.

It has had a bit of use and the wife is not that keen on it being in the house.

Any thoughts from medically focused folk?

      Cheers

      Jock:)

    3. Got It Mate!

I had it on the smaller thumbs which was not doing it for me on this screen, have changed to larger icons.

I think so with regards to the docs and I think he sold the book seperatley.

Its from a local 'pikey' so I have no chance of finding it.

I have tried to explain the importance of keeping 'it' all together but at the end of the day I am happy to catch anything original these days.

    4. It was the Manteuffel that I had doubts about.

I searched the web and so far nothing was similar, he seems to stress the 't' in other examples, I guess he may have been tired by that stage of the war though.

I am struggling with the format here, it is not as easy to navigate as some of the other forums.

I will have a search through the database.

      Thanks for your thoughts.

    5. Hello Hucks,

It is a very fragile bit of paper, I am not sure what to do with it, do you think behind glass is best?

Thanks for the steer to the sorties, quite horendus losses from the bomber formations.

Still I suppose the civil casualties balance it out in the greater scheme and hopefully they hit their targets shortening the war?

      Terrible business war!

    6. Guys,

Got these handfull of papers not long ago and didn't think of them until I unfolded the newspaper and seen that it was like a mass memorial sheet posted by the local Gualeiter.

Looking at it the family that had kept these few bits of paper were hit quite badly with the loss of the grandmother and mother of the family and the father was seriously wounded.

They have marked another 10 names on the main sheet with 'x' so I would presume those were friends known to them on their street or local area?

Old Franz Geye I think would have been the opa and already passed away but he served in the 1st war as seen from his SB.

Horst Geye was I guess the 'father' that was badly wounded.

The sheet commemorates people killed on two seperate nights, the 23rd and the 28th Sep 1943.

Just a random fragment that someone preserved and quite sad really.

I am going to have a look and see if I can link up the sorties involved, well its on the things to do list anyway!

    7. Bob,

They are a bit tall to try and photograph, hope this will do.

The top one has a shorter distance for the hangers, approx 35cm.
