You say in 1969 is it really that new? Also it looks like there had been a name on it but it was ground off, were they named? thanks,Ray an add on can you tell me what the ribbon should be on this medal? thanks again

    4. Hello I am trying to determine what a book I came across might be worth. the name of the book is British and Foreign orders, War Medals, and Decorations by A A Payne L.R.C.P., M.R.C.S. a mouthful it was by subscription . Printed in 1911. I think this info is correct. The book is only in fair condition its all there the front and rear covers are trying to come loose . I have taped the covers with cloth tape I have a few photo's i will put up as soon as I can.and thank you for looking,Ray.

    5. Eddie and Paul I want to thank you both. Paul the medal I have is not marked copy nor is the letter missing and the person I bought it from insists its the real thing thou it does not have a name. He had a bronze one marked with the # but I was to slow to get it. He is in New York so it would be stupid of him to lie as it not far from me so I kind of think he believes it is real and I have no doubt as to his sincerity.Lord knows I guess. Eddie the info on the Sudan medal was for me a nice treat as far as what I paid. Thank you both again. One can always count on Paul for help.best,Ray

    6. Hello,i do hope this is the proper place for this. I need help with two medals I have come across, both from Africa . I will let the pictures do the asking but the questions are different ,the first a Nigeria 1886-1897 is it a fake ??. The second a 1933 Sudan Defence Force general service medal can anybody tell me anything about it?I have looked to no avail . Thank you for looking and any help at all,Ray

    7. Looks to be a Bahalwalpur North-West Frontier Medal, founded 1920, gilt = officers; bronze = other ranks. Medal recognized Bahalwalpur troops who replaced Brits on [what's now Pakistan/Afghanistan] North-West Frontier and/or served in 3rd Afghan War. On ribbon for Bahawalpur's Accession to Pakistan medal--correct North-West Frontier Medal ribbon illustrated on Royal Ark Website http://www.royalark.net/Pakistan/bahawal9.htm

Wow I need to thank you for the medal information as well as for the ribbons and do you know where I can purchase the ribbon for this medal?altho the ribbon on it does look good.:::<)

    8. Indian State of Bhalwalpur (in present day Pakistan) war medal 1914-19, should be named on the rim (usually to the transport corps).

Nice medal can you give details of the naming.

      Paul

Hello again Paul, you are quite amazing but I may have said that already. I tried to get a picture of the rim but.The rim has on it 449 khuda bakrsh khan all in caps and the r in bakrsh may be a k or h not sure.date on reverse looks like 1912 but.Oh thank you again. To think that I have been wandering aimlessly about for two years trying to find people that know something of these medals, this web site is awesome and I do not use that term very much at my age.I bought a sub to this because to find this info is most worth it. thanks

    9. A recent find that I know nothing about and looking for some help. thank you in advance. there is a date on the reverse bottom that is 1912 or 13 I think other than that, lost. It came from India which means little or nothing.http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_08_2013/post-16073-0-16426400-1377133897.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_08_2013/post-16073-0-38183300-1377133964.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_08_2013/post-16073-0-17455000-1377134029.jpg

    10. It's a commemorative medal for the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria designed by Frank Bowcher and retailed by Spink and Son. It was made in 18ct gold, silver, bronze, gilt white metal, oxidised white metal and white metal. All but the gold examples are relatively common. The gold medal was sold for £12/10/-, the silver for 25/-, bronze 5/6d, gilt white metal 2/6d, oxidised white metal 2/6d, white metal 1/-. Your example appears to be silver (or possibly white metal).

      Hope this is of help,

      Paul

You sir are quite amazing. Until I found this place I had asked many people and no one knew anything to go as far as calling it a fake. Thank you very much,Ray

    11. Hello Ray ,

They are Ok , they are not fake but the thing is both of them in-complete . The one with the enamel centre has a needle attached on the reverse which must not be there , there must be Crescent and Star but missing ... The other one is totally problem , it doesnt have any value in that condition , it is just a reverse of a Ottoman Empire's mint made Medjidie order with a fantasy front centre attached .

Last messages i am only informing bad news but what can i do ...

      All the best ,

      Avsar Ibar

Hello and thank you very much.Honesty is a most honored pastime. anyway I thought as much of the first one the second I had no idea. So the first one IF I could find a proper crescent and add it to it that would be ok? The other gad why would anybody do that and is there anything I can do? thank you again,Ray
