I'm not really into finnish awards, but I still like their quality, especially with these earlyer ones.
Torture you say? Who would ever do such a thing? I hear it is against international law and the Geneva convention..

I saw it allright and now I'm pissed at myself because I wasn't fast enough. That doesn't mean that I would have had the money to buy it offcourse..

Under-valued? No. Not in a million years. To me Imperial items are beginning to get too expensive. If someone thinks that Imperial items are undervalued, take a look at the derrittmeisters catalogue. There are items there that should be in the range of 3500 $ instead of the 6000 $ he is asking for them. If someone has a feeling that Imperial items are undervalued, I'd keep it to myself before dealers get wind of it and "repair" their mistake.

It does look funny to me too. The painting in the obverse and the lion in the reverse aren't what I would describe to be normal. The arms also look odd to me. It could be a maker that hasn't been in the spotlight before and manufactured during ww1. If not, it could be made in the 20s or the 30s as a replacement. I've seen a few modern made replicas and they are far worse than this, so I wouldn't place them in the same category. So to me it's either a wartime piece from a maker seldom seen, or a interwar years replacement.
If I had to choose, I'd say it's the latter. But I've seen enough not to make judgements based on different and cheaper looks.

Yes indeed, one of 14 that were awarded with x during ww1. You can't get much more rarer than that..
IMO the OZL is the most beatifull order of Baden (it basically stole my heart when I got my first one), but Henry still gets the first place overall.
