Gentlemen,
I got my research-package today. The research to this Order of the Red Banner s/n 261.483 consist of the award card, citation and the service record (with a nice picture!). I have split the bigger documents in half to make it better readable.
Here is what i understood so far:
Name Viktor Ivanovich Makarov
Awards:
Order of the Red Banner Nr. 8083 16.01.42
Order of the Red Star Nr. 184.909 18.02.43
Order of the GPW 2nd class Nr. 364.052 06.10.44
Military Merit Medal Nr. 1.561.420 03.11.44
Order of the GPW 1st class Nr. 180.704 07.03.45
Order of the Red Banner Nr. 261.483 28.05.45
Order of the Red Star Nr. 2.148.482 06.11.45
Order of the Red Banner 3rd award Nr. 6.555 17.05.51
Medal for Victory over Germany
Medal for Capture of Berlin
Obviously a brave guy and i am very curious about the citation of course. Any help is much appreciated.

Andrei, thank you very much. Now i am able to sleep again properly.
Nice to know, its the new lowest observed s/n and that its indeed a LMD example. So its the earliest known LMD-example, fantastic!!!
Pat thats a nice one and i agree with Andrei, its a Krasnokamsk Mint production. You should think about to research it. I have one or two of those too, but i still have to make pictures. I will do one, when i have a little more time later.
Thanks again for the participation everyone and just keep them coming.

Really!? Shall check again, I wasn't aware we had that many collectors from Russia actively online here. Great!!
So true so true. Well done, everyone!!
Oh, sorry, thats a mistake, Ed. I meant to say, 22 members completely have participated, not only russian members.

Well, whoever bay_herald is, he is currently the highest bidder on both Postcards. Lets hope, he gets them.

K 10 -- The Outstanding Worker of the MPR
That seems to be a second class of this award? Because of the "II" on the ribbon?

Thanks for the answer, Dave. I will ask him in my next email.
The most of the collectors, i know(and who participate here) have at least once or twice requested research for their groups/awards or even get the most or all of their collection researched.
Ed, already here on the forum are quite a lot soviet collectors with researched groups or awards. I counted them over in the researched section, there are 22 people, who have posted something with research there.
I think, thats not bad! The GMIC has developed to the most extensive forum for researched awards
Thanks again, gentlemen.

Thank you, Ed. I will take that one then. A google search turned up over 300 hits for that name, so i guess, its the right spelling.

Dave,
do you know, how many collectors are out there, who request resaearch for their awards? Not the exact number of course, just an educated guess.

I am dreaming of a M43 Kitel with nice 5-sided boards, if possible Infantry, but Armored Troops or Artillery would be okay too. Should ideally have holes for awards, as i would like to display some orders and medals on it.
Shouldn?t be too hard to obtain, i guess...

Here are some comparisons of the two crosses. Hope, this helps...

Gents, can anyone give me the transcripted cyrillic name of Nikitchenko, as i want to request his award card now and i am not sure of the spelling.
Thanks
