I got this reply over at the WAF from member 81redstar:
"The group and the mounting of the sino=soviet friendship medal is very nice.According to the document,it says Baktybai Zholmukanov helped the building of the special branches[armor, aviation, chemical etc] of Chinese people's liberation army.He might be a trainning staff.
i wonder is the star a soviet army star"
Another bit of information

That is a fantastic set, Chris. The Medal is really nice, even if it is slightly damaged (what does not detract from its appearence in any way IMO), but the document is absolutely breathtaking
I don?t want to step on anyones feet here, but a mint cased Knights Cross with Swords and Oaks is
compared to this
Except, you have the documents of course
Great set with a great story

I have heared that one pilot school was located at Stalingrad.
Here is a soviet airforce soldier wearing a Aviatian Technican badge on his
right breast and another badge.
Andreas, nice photo. Is it this badge?:

Thank you very much guys and thanks to Rick for helpful informations. This is only my first documented group, but I guess I'm getting addicted to documentation. I always thought it was too expensive to buy them with the docs, but know I want more.
Eh, Eh, Eh

Nice photo in the document, btw.

I do not have one of these orders... yet. Are they made of gold like their Soviet counterparts?
Paul
Ed, thats a great group.
Paul,
these have virtually disappeared from the market. You could buy them quite cheap right after 1989, but i haven?t seen one for sale for quite a while.

Were all these ID?s from WW1 in this quality or is this some kind of Luxury-version?
Nice. I don?t remember seeing one of these before.
He looks like a friend of mine

What a fantastic document. You rarely see Documents for the St. Michael, not to speak of this early ones

Very very nice group, Bryan
The ribbons for the Warsaw Medal and the and the 30 years Army and Fleet are switched. But i would probably leave it like it is though.
Congrats to your first group
