    1. Hi Gerd,

I saw HH's catalogue and I wasn't impressed by the choice of their medal bars and Imperial medals. This trapezoidal bar, IMHO, it's a baaaaad fake... pretty much everything seems to be wrong: order of the decorations, low quality devices, etc.

      Ciao,

      Claudio

Very interesting, Claudio. Shows, what i know about ribbonbars.

You are right, the german imperial stuff isn?t too impressing, but there are some intersting lots though. I was surprised to see many of the TR-awards with Niemann-expertise. I think, at least that is a step forward

    2. Yes I'm planning to research it, but it would be in a few months because I'll be away from home for few months.

I don't know if you can see it on the next picture, but the screwback has been shortened. There isn't much place to screw the nut. To you have any idea if it could have broken or it was shortened by somebody?

It has been shortened for easier wear. The screwpost is often very pointy and stung at times, i guess.

    3. These early screwbacks seem to hide lovely stories, each and every one of them. We have a duty to history to reveal their tales.

I agree completely, Ed. Ok, i am not collecting soviet stuff for very long, but i have yet to seen a "boring" citation for a screwback-ORB.

This number should date around October 1942, btw.

    4. Isn't Enak Pocheta the Badge of Honor?

If that is the case, he DID get the Badge of Honor!

Very nice Order of Lenin yoy got Darrell. he think you where looking for a complete set like this for a long time. Now you got it.

Thats just a misunderstanding, Bryan. Rick said, he got a Badge of Honor, but not in the wave of awards in 1966/67, but only in 1971.

Darrel, fantastic stuff all around. Love the documented Partisan-Medals  Thanks for sharing

    5. I really use to equate Soviet with crude. But the attention to detail on even things as inconsequential as a rank brick, or a unit device is just unbelievable......... I am very much enjoying learning about this rather exciting new area!

Rick, i really enjoy it too very much. I can?t believe, i haven?t started immediately with Soviet Stuff and would have skipped the Mini-Collecting :speechless: Altough, they were nice too.

    6. For me, that this SSFM is in a DOCUMENTED group is a first, and of special interest is the legal fiction that the Sergeant "resigned" from the Soviet Army...

went on a little "sightseeing" tour...

and then came right "back" to the very unit he had left. That is a FIRST.

      Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

      :jumping::jumping::jumping::jumping::jumping::jumping:

Well, thats great. I wasn?t aware, that this is such a special case. Any idea, how many soviets were "on vacation" in Korea? And how did this work usually? Were any of them openly there or where they all kind of "undercover"?

So, if i speculate, this guy was a Radio-Specialist or something similar and went to Korea to train Korean Soldiers on radios or whatever!? They were only Advisors, right?

Do you can see, when he was drafted? The unnumbered MMM is (a little delayed) for Long-Service, right?

Should i try to get both citations for the MMM?s though?

      Thanks, man :jumping:
