Dear Gerd,
my EDV-serviceman told me, not to doctor around at my browser configurations .
Best regards
Christian
Christian, if you do only, what i have written above, nothing can go wrong. You should not change ALL the options of course
Which browser do you use? I can show it to you step by step, what to do, if necessary...

Christian,
open the preferences of your browser and click on "Languages". Delete german from the list and now you should be able to see the websites on ebay. Its simple, but you have to know it of course

Gerd

Not mine, but found posted at an on-line auction, listed as a "Post-War Museum Copy by Godet."
Scott
Scott, thats definately not Godet, but he probably means "G?de". This is the typical style of the G?de replicas.

Great thread. I wonder, if he converted his soviet scewback awards, ie. Order of Lenin, Order of Red Banner, but more likely he got reissues as one of the important guys.

I don't know why, but looks like inspired by the German Naval wound badge...
Cheers.
Ch.
Yeah, that was my first thought as well.

Nice tunics, gentlemen.
Charles, what might have been the order, which is missing on the medalbar on your tunic?

I understand my clothes in different pictures is identical. After the first photo has passed one year. My clothes are my amulet. If I have dressed this form means I shall arrive home with finds.
Well, then good luck with your next search
Great pictures, i love the one with the shell above the bird hole.

Dear Gerd,
that's a very interesting ribbonbar: What is the 2nd "Germany-Medal" at the last row ?
Best regards
Christian
Hi Christian,
thats for the 25 years Victory badge. It had no seperate ribbon, so they used the VoG ribbon. Here are other examples:

VERY nice group, Bryan
I have seen it before and also have one or two researched awards to illiterate soldiers and i hardly doubt, that the whole USSR could read at that time.

Great collection, pluribus. I am still stunned by the wonderful design of these badges. Do you have per chance any pictures of these badges in wear?

Leigh, fantastic "sideline" collection. Some of the boards i have never seen before.
Re. the "Reichsj?germarschall" boards, if you consider, what a hunting-nerd G?ring was, you never know

And while the medal itself is very common, the document to this medal is very rare. Alexei (NOTA BENE) has one for sale on his website for 65 Dollars. That may seem a lot of money for a document to a cheap medal, but it is justifiable if you consider the rarity.

Is that not the Distinguished Labour Medal ribbon or is it a scanning effect?
Eric, no its the right ribbon for the MMM. Could be mistaken for the DLM-Medal, i guess.

Excellent, thank you very much, Rick.
I thought the same, a 57 award could be interesting to research. I have another unumbered MMM researched, so i know its possible. This one is in the next batch for research, could be interesting obviously.
Thanks again

I don't think there is any reason to have doubts about common combinations.
There is also always the possibility that one person's group has been dispersed. I've had several sets for the same person, updated as each new junk jubilee award came along. And I have three "identical" sets to a Border Guards general with the only difference being improvized Cuban ribbons as he had less and less ribbon for each set on different tunics.
Yes, i would agree, Rick. Thats indeed a very common combination and there is also a chance, that they belong together. Thanks for confirming my thoughts.

Thank you, Christian. I didn?t even notice, that its time already.
Okay, its really quite easy with the Microsoft Explorer. The fact, that i only have the german version of the browser, makes it a little tricky though.
1. Click on "Tools" or "Extras", if you use the german version
2. Chose "Internetoptionen" ("?" in the english version, probably something similar?)
Now the browser opens a window, where you can change several options. You see four rectangular buttons right over the "OK" button at the bottom of the window. Second from right is "Sprachen" or "Languages". Click on it and another windows opens. There you now see the activated languages. Delete german from the list, it won?t change anything in the appearance of the browser. Click on "OK" twice to close the windows. Now it should work hopefully.
If you have any questions, let me know.
regards,
Gerd
