    1. Chris, It was an exceptional gift, from an old professor and vietnam era special forces veteran. I gently disassembled it today and cleaned it, then reassembled it. Fully restored it may fetch US $750.00, but it will become an hierloom for my son. Doc.
    2. Jock, Thanks for the welcome, I am actually an old member with a new account. I am no longer active. As far as the helmet is concerned I had it authenticated by a collector and my plan is to restore it. The Imperial & state roundels and chinstrap or scales. [1916] is stamped inside the liner and some kind of faded ink mark. Oh and '56' is stamped on the back rim underside of the helmet. Inside is "Wessenberg Cie//Cannstatt" Doc.
    3. This was a gift for an old family friend. 1916 is stamped in the helmet liner. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2014/post-17089-0-67431000-1398795987.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2014/post-17089-0-77023100-1398795990.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2014/post-17089-0-09939300-1398795993.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_04_2014/post-17089-0-74283600-1398795996.jpg
