    1. Hiya Doc!

Nice find indeed.... have had one on my wants list for ages... but the money has just never been there at the end of the month... someday...

      Chris,

It was an exceptional gift, from an old professor and vietnam era special forces veteran. I gently disassembled it today and cleaned it, then reassembled it. Fully restored it may fetch US $750.00, but it will become an hierloom for my son.

      Doc.

    2. Jock,

Thanks for the welcome, I am actually an old member with a new account. I am no longer active. As far as the helmet is concerned I had it authenticated by a collector and my plan is to restore it. The Imperial & state roundels and chinstrap or scales.

[1916] is stamped inside the liner and some kind of faded ink mark. Oh and '56' is stamped on the back rim underside of the helmet.

      Inside is "Wessenberg Cie//Cannstatt"

      Doc.

    3. This was a gift for an old family friend. 1916 is stamped in the helmet liner.
