Thank you Peter, I did spend some time afterwards today reading all of the messages of condolences left by forum members and it is very clear how highly thought of and respected he was as a person and as a researcher. That his posts remain for someone like myself to find is, I think, a great legacy. My research will continue and I have no doubt, his photographs will play a part. I am trying to get a translation of an article in Romanian at the moment. If I can get that and find out what it says, I might be able to post a new thread tying in his photographs with the article...

Jock, Thank you for letting me know. I am new and that was my first post. I am very saddened to hear of the loss of Rick. Judging by the amount of posts he had made, he was an active and keen participant in this forum. I will follow the leads you have given me - thank you. I wouldn't like to get into trouble using someone else's images without permission... Thanks again Mac

Hello Rick Research, I realise it is some time ago since you posted these images and I hope you are still active on this forum. I am currently researching WW1 POWs and in particular, a British soldier who was buried in Haltingen Romanian Cemetery and moved after the war. I have also found an interesting article which I believe relates to this cemetery being found along with the graves of Romanian POWs in 1978. I have also located letters published online of a British POW that states they stayed at Haltingen for a short time. I am also a member of another war forum and would like your permission to use your images on that forum please? If you would like me to post the links to any of the above information, please let me know. Many thanks
