    1. Thanks for your opinion. I think the suspension ring was resoldered. The look of whatever holds it together is like silvery metal. Including the ribbon the commemorative medal weighs 17.5 gr. The 'war' medal 28.4 gr. I cannot remove the ribbons, but if I try to support the ribbon then the medals weigh around 16.3 gr and 25.7 gr. Very inaccurate obviously 😉 Greetings, Marcel
    2. Dear all, Part of my small Japanese medals collection: two medals relating to the '1937-1945 China Incident'. One very common, the other apparently slightly less common though not rare. The China Incident medal came in a case including wrapping paper, the commemorative medal is of course uncased. Hopefully they are both OK ;-). Greetings, Marcel
    3. Thank you for your reply. I had seen that list.but couldn't help notice that it is not always in alphabetical order. Some combinations appear later. Must be a logical explanation (?). Marcel
    4. Greetings, Almost ten years have passed since I joined this forum. Shortly after joining, I stopped collecting Japanese medals. Recently I decided to remove the dust from my small collection and start again. Nice to see that my old account data were not lost on this forum. I will need some time to read all posts in the Japan forum from the last ten years. 🙃 On my Rising Sun 3rd class I found a marking which I had not noticed before. I found a posting listing 2 letter codes, maybe my eyesight is not yet fully developed 😉but I didn't see this one in the posts I've read so far. Could I be right in assuming this one is from the early 1980's? Still lots to catch up on. Marcel
