Yes I think it is Coburg-Gotha, the last ribbon is the 1899 Coburg-Gotha wedding medal, so its probably a fair assumtion the SEHO medal is from Coburg-Gotha, probably the version with the bust of Alfred on it. It will look a lot nicer once I find the decorations for it!

Good evening gentlemen, I thought I would share one of my favourite little bars, unfortunately without medals but we cant have everything! Im thinking it once belonged to a member of the Duke's household, a butler (or something similar) perhaps?

Great bar Christophe! I have a Godet made colonial button hole set with a similar crown on the St Henry ribbon.

Now I know why I love these pre-1900 bars so much. That is a FABULOUS bar Micha!

Thanks for the comments guys...4 years was a long time but it certainly paid off in the end. Only one more bar to complete, then its off to the frame makers to have all my pre-1914 bars put into a nice display case. Then I can start on all the other incomplete projects I have sitting in my to-do box - i'm up to around 6 bars now waiting on their medals!

First came the easiest of the 3 - the 1870 medal, then the Saxe-Altenburg medal....and just last week from Christian (thanks mate!) came the 1870 EK2.
So here is is, back to its original form:

Hello Gentlemen! I received this bar from a fellow in Western Australia around 4 years ago and have been slowly but surely sourcing the correct awards to bring it back to life....

Beautiful bars guys! When they got a few extras down the line they must have thought "why throw it away it might come in handy someday!" :)

This little darling arrived on my doorstep a few weeks back, I consider it an early present from me to me (since my wife only buys me "practical" gifts like socks and cordless drills) .
RAO (4th class?), 25 year DA and Centenary. A nice restoration project when I can get around to it.
Merry Christmas!

Thanks Christian and Rick.
I remember years ago a collector friend here had a non-combattants bar (pretty much destroyed) with a Philip on it, and even back then Rick mentioned the difficulty in locating one! Yep, a definite long-term project for this one.

My thoughts on the first 4 ribbons are Red Eagle 4th class, 25 year LS, DSWA (probably non-combattant) and of course Centenary...but the last one has me miffed. I'd appreciate any other opinions!
cheers
