A couple of days ago i got this nice Mle 15. I realy like condition on this one - With the small shrapnell dentson it.
The Casque was camoflaged with a very dark green color and a few black dashes.under it you can see the the oiginal blue - grey color.
Its definitiv not a post ww1 repaint - which would be much lighter.
I didnt cleaned the Casque so far - should i leave it as it is? I realy like the look it has.

Hello guys,
got this medal bar - without medals - for 30€. Everything looks period.
F.l.t.r.:
EK2 / Düppler Sturmkreuz für die Sturm Combattanten / Medaille 1870/71 / UNKNOWN / Long Service Award ? / Long Service Award ?
It would be nice if someone can help me. Whats the Unknown Medal? What kind of long sevice medals belong on the bar?
Should i try to restore it?

Vielen dank Jens.
Also muss das Foto von 1914 sein. Wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe das Anfang 1914 alle durch den M1913 Landsturm Feldrock ersetzt wurden.
Gruß

.585 is Gold.
The pendant i posted ist also .585 marked - hard to read on the photo.
Those badges were made in 925 Silver, 333 Gold and 585 Gold. But it seems they made just a few of precious metal. I bet just the early ones.
Have you a picture?

I would say so. The maker Lauer Nürnberg uses the same style hook on their early Bundesverdienstkreuz 1st class.
Anyways thats a very nice badge!

Yes its always sad. Those man - on all sides - have such a hard job. They were directly confronted with the cruels of war. As you said the recognition is nearly zero.
I feel its importend to recognise those man - renacting is a good step to show it to the modern world.
