Hi
I would just like to show you all a few scans of my new small FJ group that pitched up on my doorstep today. The poor guy was transferred from LW Flak to FJ in 1944, only to be wounded to the head and lose an eye. This is my first soldbuch so I am interested in your comments.

Can anybody tell me about this award, what would have been required to qualify for it and what nationalities would have worn it, etc?
Many thanks

Sal I think pic 12 is possibly related to Aviazione Legionaria, the Italian unit that fought in the spanish civil war, here is a pic of my embroidered wings, note Axe, Gun, Crossbow.

Im looking to purchase these badges and wondered if anybody could point me in the right direction as to authenticity?
I have checked them out against views from http://www.ww2wings.com/wings/italy/italyairrescue.shtml
and they look pretty good but I wanted second opinions as I am unfamiliar with these.
Thanks

Hi
This is a pic of FJ in Crete, I was wondering if anybody could help me out with Aircraft type and perhaps the unit emblem, this is positively the best scan I could do. Many thanks.

For any who maybe interested this stamp is for the replacements for Feldbattalion Feldherrnhalle, 271 Infantry Regiment, before it became officially Infantry Regiment FHH. As I have just found out

Hi Guys
I am researching a horde of German POW letters to the same man that have come into my possesion. Specifically I am looking for any information into hold over camps in the UK that were used to temporarilly hold POW's before onward journeys to camps in Canada. I have a wealth of information about the Canadian camps from a source in America but nothing on th UK including a web search.
The address that I have is
Dated 1940
Gefreiten Walter ERNST, 16133(his POW Nr)
5. Prisoners of War Camp
England
I think, 5. Prisoners of War Camp relates to a hold over in the UK, any ideas??
Thanks

Here is a site that maybe of interest, click on the links and listen to the song with printed words and an historical explanation. I recommend Hearts of Oak. Enjoy

I think I cracked it, does that look like a plane inset?

Thanks John, if it helps this is from a large group of photos for Heinrich Meyer I./KG 2 RK winner 15.10.1942 but I am drawing a blank as well. Although I have this other photo showing an aircraft with the same stripe around the nose of the plane but the emblem does not look the same as the others to me. Large resolution scans, thats blinding me with science I will have a play and see what I can do. Thanks again.
