    1. 2nd ID, 2nd Engineer Train, found in a Florida attic.
    2. Another 3rd ID. Sadly, but, not unusually, he's only a shell with but the top pad of the liner remaining.
    3. This could be an open thread to display your M-1917 steel helmets. Having recently retired from TR helmet collecting, a neglected interest in M-1917 steel helmets has been rekindled to replace the passion for things TR. I'll go first - ID that is. Cheers, Cody Grayland
    4. Hi Bob, Those were my thoughts as well. A photo in Baer shows an SA 'guard' opening the door of a Kubelwagen for some high-ranking SA officer. Cheers, Cody
    5. Here's one you won't see every day. Walked into a Michigan gun show during the fall of 1984; SA M-35dd, Q64, SA-brown in and out, 1939-dated domestamp. In 35 years of being around these things I have only encountered three SA combat helmets; this example, the helmet shown in Baer and another, once owned by Steve Dukes in the early 70's. Were it not for the SA meatball the helmet would exhibit no damage at all. Shortly afer application, the decal was very likely damaged by the chinstrap bale of another helmet having been stacked-on. Hope you enjoy, Cody
    6. Scratchbuilt antenna mounts, stowage loops on side of fighting compartment.
    7. Machined(scratchbuilt) mantlet, barrel and muzzle brake.
    8. Thanks for the welcome, guys. Built this early 70's-vintage Tamiya Stug III about a dozen years ago, long before Tamiya released their current new tool. At that time, I was still learning about armor and what the aftermarket offered, therefore, the P/E intake grills from 'On The Mark' were the only P/E used. Model still has the 'rubberband' tracks but also has many scratchbuilt and machined fiddly-bits to keep him ineresting. Overall, I think he's still a passable shelf model. Cody
    9. Gettin' a feel for the Forum and image posting criteria. OK, let's try this again... There we go - that worked.
    10. Seams on the Svezda towing hooks were left untouched as that more closely replicated the crudely cast items typical on T-34's.
