Can someone tell me a bit more about these French Medals for the National Society for the Encouragement of Good please. I can find very little on the Society and even less on why the medals were awarded and what the different types of medals were for - there seems to be a few versions s for that organisation. I bought them recently, they don't really fit with the WW1 and WW2 theme of my collection, but they were so attractive I couldn't resist.

Italian Ethiopia Campaign Medal with 1937 bar??
Duncan replied to Duncan's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
Thank you for the information. I've had this medsl for the last year and only just noticed the bar is wrong! -
Hi, thanks for that. Just Googled 'Florentine Bronze', seems its a modern term for the metal its made from, so confirms its a modern made copy.

Yes, that's what I thought. The obverse seems to have been used on quite a few medals and plaques.

That's the only photo I have I'm afraid.

Yes, they seem quite common, but can't find any information on them.

Thanks everyone. Actually, I seem to remember asking this same question on this site a while ago. Sorry, my memory's going!

Could someone tell me please the award criteria for the Grande-Bretagne bar on the French WW2 Commemorative War Medal. Is it service with the Free French forces but solely in the UK, so no active service outside the UK during the war?

1939/45 Star to Jodhpur Infantry - any information on this unit.

Hello, I've got a few 1939/45 Stars to men from the Jodhpur Infantry. Some named '2 Jodhpur Infantry SF' others 'Jodhpur Sardar Infantry SF'. Anyone known the reason for the difference in unit name, and where and when they served? Thank you, Duncan. -
Thank you, that's very kind of you.

That's absolutely fantastic, thank you. I had no idea French military documents were available. I'll run it through Google translate tonight - unfortunately my French is practically non-existent. Very interesting too about the medal. I was confused as to what mutual benefit societies actually were, thank you for clarifying for me. Thank you again. Duncan.
