    1. Can someone tell me the award criteria/dates for the following bars please - Escaut, Winterbeek, and Canal de Wessen. Many thanks, Duncan.
    2. I often see various French life saving society medals - like the photo attached- can someone tell me more information on them please, like why they were awarded. There seems to be no end of different types and they're often attractive and very well made.
    3. Thanks for the info. Some websites I've seen say it's WW1 and others WW2. Think it must be WW2 myself.
    4. One from my collection. Someone on this forum said it was typical of a late entry into the theatre of war; last few months but less that 6 months so didn't quality for the 1939-1945 Star. Thanks for the replies everyone. Spent some time looking at the award criteria for the various stars and medals and got totally confused. As I read it, can't see that the 1939-1945 Star and Defence Medal would be legitimate, but possibly the Defence Medal and Italy Star might be OK, like was said may be a civilian in some sort of capacity. Or may be just random medals put together for no particular reason!
    5. Can someone tell me more information on these badges please. I can't find any information at all about them at all.
    6. Can someone tell me a bit more about these French Medals for the National Society for the Encouragement of Good please. I can find very little on the Society and even less on why the medals were awarded and what the different types of medals were for - there seems to be a few versions s for that organisation. I bought them recently, they don't really fit with the WW1 and WW2 theme of my collection, but they were so attractive I couldn't resist.
    7. Hello, I noticed this odd combination of WW2 medals for sale. Both sets are mounted and doesn't look like they were recently mounted. Was it feasible to earn these combination of medals without also being awarded at least the 1939-1945 War Medal too?
    8. Can anyone tell me if this badge relates to WW2 or not please? Looked on Google and a few sites say WW1 and others WW2, or course it could be neither?
    9. Can someone please identify the ribbon on the left please.
    10. Thank you for the information. I've had this medsl for the last year and only just noticed the bar is wrong!
    11. Hi, I've had this in my collection for quite a while. Only just sunk in though that the bar is 1937 and the Ethiopia campaign ended in 1936. If it's therefore on the wrong medal can someone tell me which Italian medal it belongs on please?
    12. Hi, thanks for that. Just Googled 'Florentine Bronze', seems its a modern term for the metal its made from, so confirms its a modern made copy.
    13. Hello, I bought this recently as a copy. Can someone tell me what the makers mark is on the ribbon loop please, it looks like EAPLO on the left arm and a cornucopia on the right arm.
    14. Hello, I bought it off a guy in the UK on Ebay. Shame it's not still with the family. Wonder how it came to be in the UK. Do your family have his other medals?
    15. Can I have people's views on the authenticity of this Croix de Yser please. I've not bought it or anything, l was just wondering on whether it's a copy or not. The green enamelling on the top circular part looked a little out.
    16. Bit of a longshot but does anyone know where I can get a blue ribbon star for the silver Medaille Reconnaissance Française? Been looking for years on Ebay and other sites without success.
    17. Yes, that's what I thought. The obverse seems to have been used on quite a few medals and plaques.
    18. That's the only photo I have I'm afraid.
    19. Hello, thank you for the information. Kind regards, Duncan.
    20. Yes, they seem quite common, but can't find any information on them.
    21. Can someone please identify this medal and tell me what it was awarded for. Its dated 1916 but not sure its anything to do with the war. Thank you, Duncan.
