    1. Hello:

Recipients last name appears to be онищук ( Onishchuk?)

      Severly wounded on 10.8.43

      Citation refers to

City of Dunafeldvar Hungary on 25.01.45

I read "repelling enemy counterattacks. Repel enemy attacks knocking out 2 tanks and 1 APC. Also atttacking the enemy and knocking out 6 tanks and 2 APC's. Comrade Onishchuk gained control of the area and repelled hostile counterattacks.

I'm still working on filling the holes.

I hope this helps with what you have been able to decypher. I'd love to see the award card and the award!

      Regards

      Rick

Thank you for your comments about the authenticity of the seal over the photographs. Your comment about the snowflake has got me looking at other

areas. Would it also apply to the seal added inside the document on the page where the awards are listed along with the serial number?.

I have beem checking various posts to see what they show. I have also checked my two award docs and one clearly show a snowflake not a five pointed star.

The other award doc seal around this area is rather less defined but seems to be a snowflake also.

Thank you for my continuing education.

      Regards

      Rick

    4. I wish to thank Doc Riley for his help and guidance . When I started this hobby in the latter part of last year I was looking for someone

who could point me in the right direction. I came across Doc's name and sent him an e-mail asking for assistance. Doc was very kind

to help with passing on his knowledge about this field of endeavour. Thanks again Doc for your help. This is a great hobby and you

have been a big part in making it enjoyable.

      Regards

      Rick
