This is another exemplar...
It looks good enough, but one never knows...
Thanks Guys

Miguel
A little bit late. The medal itself looks okay to me. Due to the low serial number it has a little square suspension.
But better pictures of the suspension are needed to say something about originality.

Looks like a casted fake to me.
Look at the letter H reverse in the word "HAWY". The letter H is much weaker than the other letters and no signs of wear. The weak H is a cast problem, you can see it on a lot of copy´s.
The soldered ring looks bad.The rim of the medal looks sharp and uneven. It´s one of the lower quality fakes.
To judge this high end medals and to give a consistently answer you need at least this quality of pics to recognize a good fake.

Looks like a casted fake to me.
Less detailes in the leaves conmpared to an original one. Sharp edges on the medal rim. The soldered ring is a give a way.

here is the picture
Value of the medals in good condition (prices observed on ebay):
Leningrad: 12 € to 16 €
Stalingrad: 20 € to 26 €
Caucaus: 12 € to 18 €

Looks like a heavy used Stalingrad medal, maybe ground dug.
As a general rule, all soviet city medals with separate soldered rings are produced between the year 1944 and 1948.

I like what I see.
Where does the wall on your medal ends? There is a rarer variation with short walls produced 1944 and a more common version produced 1945-48 with a long wall.
On the pictures you can see the difference. Long wall goes to the rim of the medal and the short wall ends at the letters.

I like your Caucasus medal. Looks good.
I added a big picture of a fake medal (casted). All soviet medals are coined not casted.
Compare the ornaments with a original one.

Ferdinand,
My mistake, thank you for the forum link. I have a bunch more that I would like an expert opinion on.
Dean
Hello Dean,
you can post the pictures here and on the other forum. A little remark. If you post pictures, make them as big as possible.
In most cases the suspension and the ribbon is not very interesting. Use the free space for bigger pictures of the medal itself.

Interesting,
how does he know it. There is nothing mentioned about award cards or the citations.
Would be interesting to see them.

Nice, looks like it is a commemoration medal for a trade fair in 1940.

I don´t like the medal. The ring is a give-away. The upper star (12o´´clock) is disturbed and so on.
I my oppinion a fake.
Better pictures are always welcome.

Hello Dan,
Your medal should be awarded in spring 1945.

It's 209253, 3s are always made from three 'scratches'.
Yes, looks like a nine.

It´s a fake. Wrong reverse for this serial number. Have a look at the crude torch.
Here is a real torch in this serial number range to compare.
