There were a fair number of awards struck for the Freedom War. I'll start with my meager collection in the hopes that y'all can add to it ( even if only cyberly
)
First, the Prussian 1813/1814 KDM f?r Frontk?mpfer. Established in December 1813, it also came in 1813, 1814, and 1815 models (added later, obviously). Made from captured cannon and bearing the appropriate Randschrift. There were 2 models: this type, with the sharp arms, and a type for 1813 and 1814 with the arms extending to the rim.

A little tweaking of the gamma and the "ladder" begins to appear.

Hi all,
I wondered if perhaps, by chance, anyone might have a spare length of Silesian 2nd class medal ribbon they'd be willing to part with?
I put in the request in the "wanted" section but so far no replies. Thought I'd pop the request here as well just in case. Can be real or modern production... I'm not picky.
If you have one please PM and let me know how much and we'll go from there.
Mucho thanks in advance!
Dan

Try it in black and white. The colors of the patina are acting as dazzle camouflage.
I'm not sure which side is up or down, which further confuses old tired brains.
Or it is the Chinese character for "soup."
I think "soup" is th answer.

In the process of cataloging my eclection I've come across some mm's on EKII's that have me
, but this is the biggest hair puller of all. I've tried my camera, scanner at every dpi from 600 to 9400 and various gamma settings, loupe, and Ouija Board, but still can't figure it out. Wish I had an electron microscope. Anyone want to take a guess?
It has a distictive core with a joined 813 on the reverse and looks like it might have been blackened rather than painted and the frame passes the "lick test" for silver, but the mm looks like it was done with a broken punch.
Any guesses?

Hello !
The "25" is the number of the division mobilized by the great duchy in 1914 : 25th Inf. Div, who was part of the XVIIIth Army Corps.
From von Hessenthal & Schreiber:

He has also listed about 20 X 1870 Feld Postcards.
Those Feldpost need to stay together!
I'm too skint to bid, but someone please, please go for them.

What is the significance of the number '25'?
It was instituted on the 25th anniversary of Ernst Ludwig's rule.

No, just curious by nature and fairly good at searching.

those early bars, especially the losing side 66-winning side 70/71.

The Perfecta Watch and Clock Co was US importer for Konrad Mauch, Keininger & Obergfell and Kern & Sohne after WWI. The case may be original, but the movement or face a replacement.

I'd want better scans before I made a decision. It's hard to tell if that's honest wear or a not so well detailed copy.

Unit flagpole?

Except for the ?se being turned 90 degrees it's a fairly common style of repair, although the first identifiable factory job I've seen. There's got to be more to it than that, though.

What do you think about that Stahlhelm badge mark? DWS in a triangle? Can you make out anything remotely similar inside your triangle It's a long shot...but the time frame is on your side. sorta.
Nothing in the triangle, but they'd have to be awfully small. I think there's a good chance it's the same maker. As you said, the time frame's right. There was a maker of Hindenburgs. B&N, that had an N in a triangle as their logo, too.
Here's another oddball mark. Looks like it might be a S?tterlin e.
Sometimes I think the workers in the EK factories got bored and made up stamps just to mess with future generations

geez, man! i recently saw a hallmark question on another thread with a similar logo. it was a triangle with three figures/letters inside. it wasn't on an iron cross, tho.
i can't remember where i saw it.
There's a Hindenburg marked with letters in a triangle. Can't remember for sure, but I think B&N.

I don't remember posting this before, but if I have, mea culpa. I've looked at this mark up, down, and sideways, and it's still a triangle. The obverse core's a little weak in the crown, but that's been said about me, too, by my noncollector friends. Maker Gossamer Wump?

The container is an oiler for, I believe, a Lee- Enfield.

It is a GROSSKREUZ !!!!
I think that's an ?bergrosskreuz. Well, it'd have to be for that many generals.
