    1. Yes made of a very coarse wool, thanks for information about the buttons. I've found very little information regarding this design of jacket. Most jackets I've seen from this time period don't have any pockets, and the one picture I've seen with pockets has white piping on the cuffs and shoulders, so I don't know if this is unit specific or just never had it added. That said the should look to have had officers rank on it at some point. The seller had it listed as a model of 1896 frock jacket.
    2. Just picked this up for good price but don't really know more than it's old, anyone have any ideas of age, If I'm correct the buttons are Edwardian era? Jacket is unmarked and buttons are marked "Hicks and Sons - London" Seller says found in an attic in Nova Scotia. I have done some research online and can't seem to find this model jacket.
