    1. Hello all,

Just in is this nice example of a hard-to-find 'L/56' Frunke & Brunninghaus EKII. It meaures 44.12 mm wide, 44.16mm tall. The ribbon ring, being small in dia., is 12.75mm outside dia., 1.68mm dia. wire. The frame is humped for the jump ring as Junckers, W&L's and others. The core and frame detailing matches it's EKI counterpart. Enjoy the photos...

    2. Hi all,

I bought this tunic last summer, and finally got around to putting it on a torso mount just last night. Well, I thought I'd show it off a little. I haven't gotten around to downsizing any other photos of it yet, but will in time if anyone is interested. It's pretty straight, other than two or three moth nips on the back side and under one arm. The left sleeve, on the inside is worn down to the nap from wear, presumably from rubbing against the badges. Dressed with it's badges it's a handsome piece.

I neede to work on editing my photos a little - get a better focus...

    3. This very badge is on page 162-3 in Mickael Tucker's book, and marked 'F&BL'. I know it's always been known as the 'unknown maker', and this marking is new to me too, but perhaps it's a clue as to who originally made it. Some say the mark could have been a distribution mark, stamped on the badge after production. But my argument to this is, have you ever tried to stamp a zinc badge? A tombak yes, being nonferrous metal. But zinc, it will break, crack. The zinc badge in the book is stamped 'F&BL'. If you don't have the book, Mickael gave me permission to post a photo at will.

    4. Have you seen any of these 86's with marks on the ring or just unmarked?

Of course most novices get confused with Souval's 98's, and read them upsidedown, thinking they've found an '86', I have yet to see or hear of any marked '86' Paulmann & Crone. I don't think they exist, Steve. All I have to play by are the two packets these two crosses defiantely came in, and from WWII German vets themselves. That settles it for me.

I saw one other Paulmann & Crone on the Collector's Guild months ago.
