I was previledge to serve in the Angolan Bushwar with three different Forces. 1) South African Defence Force Infantry 2) South African Railways Police 3) South African Police I received the following medals with these forces for Combating Terrorism 1) Pro Patria 2) SARP Medal for Combating Terrorism 3) SAP Medal for Combating Terrorism During my very last medal parade with my Provincial Commissioner (Genl), the Vice President wanted to know what my medals were. I told him and he said I'm not allowed to wear the mentioned medals. Our National HQ sent out a letter to tell us, that they prefer that we don't wear those medals, but its our own choice. Up to now, I'm still wearing all my medals to private parades, because it was earned and not given for free. Attached is a picture of my medals and one of my late farther and brother's medals
