The medallion looks fine and I don't see any problems with the construction.

It looks convincing.

I see a "W" on the lower cross arm.

It looks to good to be true.

With some additional research and help, the medal bar is restored.
2 -
To my knowledge, only one cross was allowed to be worn.

If so, the third hole does not provide room for another award.

To me it looks like a second hole for a pinback medal.

Is that the Oberst z. D. Ziegler who commanded the Landwehr-Bezirks-Kommando Speyer and retired 16 December 1886?
Yes Andreas, this is our man.

Going back the Rangliste, I have found this:
Unterleutnant: 31 Oct 1845, 3rd Jaeger Bataillon
Oberleutnant: 23 Dec 1849, 5th Jaeger Bataillon
Hauptmann: 16 May 1859, 5th Jaeger Bataillon
Major: 11 Aug 1870, Commander of the 7th Jaeger Bataillon
Oberstleutnant a.D.: 28 Feb 1874
I have nothing about birth/death dates and/or family.

I’m assuming you black-lighted the bar?
Yes, does not glow.

At least she says that this is a museum/exhibition piece, made in the 40s or 50s.

It is unevenly stretched. Even the EK2 looks like to have different width of white stripes.

That was my thought about "Beendet" as well. You can't tell the difference. it is more likely that the seller terminated it prematurely.

EK2 ribbon is dirtier than the HHO one. From the back side they look the same. This is not a recent purchase, I've had this for about 20 years.

Might be the description. Did it really end without any bid or was it ended bevor bidding ended?
"Beendet" is "Finished" or "Terminated". So, probably it went unnoticed.
