It does look a lot like an SVT bayonet. IT is an undisputed Soviet MN bayonet, whatever the variation. Thank you for sharing it!

Looks like an svt40 blade welded to a mosin nagant mount. I suppose they used what they had.

Yes it is possible to see two parts. The first the basis from a needle of a rifle of Mosin. Second -an edge from Tokarev's rifle.However an edge longer than at SVT-40. This edge is more than the edge of a bayonet SVT.This edge is more similar to an edge of a German carbine

I wish to show the Soviet bayonet for Mosin's rifle made in the surrounded Leningrad. It is rare enough version of a bayonet for the widespread Soviet rifle.In Russia it name blocadnik (блокадник).

I know that it might not have been correct. But: 1. I did not know wether they had a weapon or not.

2. I was the only person around (alone and they were two trained soldiers) 3. it was a military area ( I had permission to be there but nobody knew that exept the CO) 4. I did not speak their language .

I do not know wether you know the live of a normal soldier in GDR in 1989. Some very bad things happened.

I still think that my reaction was correct in this case.

I will try my best to post photographs. (I will ask my son to do it on the weekend because with computers I am an idiot)
