Very nice, although officers weren't authorised to wear the Marksman's lanyard.....

And Fl. U.V. means Flieger Unterkunft Verwaltung, or Flight Barracks Administration.

I am with you Jock, I think it is cut from a vehicle pennant, and the eagles from these pennants always have their heads facing to the front of the pennant,
so one side will have the eagle looking the other way from the one on the opposite side of the pennant.
Hope that makes sense !
Cheers

Stellar grouping Bob. Please let us know what you dig up in your research.
Looks like both contacts that John passed on are not going to reply, so at the moment, I guess I am dead in the water for any further info
on him.
Best wishes

The IV Battalion of Luftlande Sturm-Regiment 1 was formed in the winter of 1940/41. The battalions never saw action together, except at Crete.
The Kommandeur of IV./St.Rgt 1 was Hauptmann Walther Gericke, and the
OC 15 Kompanie was Oberleutnant Dobke, killed in action attacking Maleme airstrip on the 20th of May 1941.

Hi all,
I thought I would show a recent document group, to a Fallschirmjaeger from the Luftlande Sturm-Regiment 1, 15 Kompanie.
The soldier obviously survived Crete, and went on to serve in Russia and by the looks of one of his wound documents, he also
did time in Normandy w ith the 6th FJD.
If anyone has any further info on the man, I would love to hear it.
Many thanks,
Bob

This has a bit more of a military flavour, this is the old Fort Glandville in Adelaide, sadly it was closed while we were there, but a very kind Park Ranger
let us in for a quick look around the Fort, built in Colonial times...

Not exactly military, but will zing them in here anyway, there is some great old Colonial buildings around the port area in Adelaide,
I couldn't resist a few photos.....

Hi all,
I just posted this along with several photos of the Adelaide (Australia) military vehicle museum in the museums section, but thought this was
interesting enough to post here as well.
I have never seen another example, it looks like it was used by an Aussie for his own tool box after he 'captured' the box. I don't know what is
inside the box, as I respected the museums wishes and didn't fiddle with it.
Cheers

Some Luftwaffe bits and pieces
in Germany: Third Reich: Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Equipment
Posted
Good Morning John
All singular pieces sadly, the Ehrenpokal is to a pilot from KG 26, Uffz Ernst Quaas, awarded 23/1/43,
some photos of it as well as a couple of photos of him....
-Bob
Pilots badge is a C.E. Juncker example......
Clasp is also a Juncker.....
I can throw in a cased Berg & Nolte PB too....
The officer M43 cap is the same one that is photographed in Jack Angolia's Luftwaffe series (Volume 1) published
by Roger Bender..
