I'm not sure if I ever posted these or not, but here are some counterfit, un-cut sheets of Saddam 10,000 Dinar notes, five bills to a sheet. The guy doing them did a really good job, hard to tell from the picture though, I had to make it small enough to post.

I recently found some stationary I aquired while in Iraq in 2003. I took it from an office in the Al Qadissiya complex, at the time it was a suspected WMD production facility. I finally got it translated (thanks to Bob for that!!) earlier this week. If anyone has any information about the named individual or a more accurate translation, please let me know.
Translation -
Top centered - In the name of merciful God
Top right - Arabian Baath Socialist Party - Military Office
Command of Al Husseyin Military Branch
Command of Al Qadissiya Military Part
Command of Ammoriyah Military Part ( troop)
Top left - unity Arabian Nation
with immortal lission
Bottom - the comrade Jasim Abid Ali Al Juhashi
secretary of the party ( Al Baath party troop)

Sivart,
The two discs on the right side are collar insignia for the Military Engineering College.
Bob
Bob - Thanks for the information, after reading some of your other posts it seems that you are well versed in this field of collecting. Any ideas about the insignia to the left of the engineering insignia?
Thanks -

I was talking about the oval disc, having never handled one before I was just suprised to note how light and almost cheap the whole thing felt. I assumed that this was due to it being a recently produced award as opposed to an older version. Thanks for the info Kevin.

I was recently awarded the Scutzenschnur and was dismayed to find that it was made of plastic or some synthetic non-metal substance. I had always thought that it was made of metal - does anyone know if the older versions were made of metal? If so, where can I get one in gold?
Here is the certificate that came with the award.
Thanks

Hi Lorenzo,
Thank you for your kind words. The flag is a very special piece to me. I am curious as to why there are not many of these about? I have only seen about 3 other bona-fide flags brought back, that were not ones made specifically for "tourists".
I look forward to seeing your treasures here! Thank you again.

I got this flag in 2003 and although small, it was in use when I arrived. It was at the mayors office in Fallujah. But I do admit I do have a "tourist" Iraqi flag also, complete with my name, dates of my first tour, and gold tassle!

Reflective street sign from Tikrit, Iraq
This was brought back from Iraq last year and was up for auction. I was out bid by $58.00 it sold for $1,238.00.
This sign would hang for the traffic to see as they entered into Saddam Hussien's Home City of Tikrit, Iraq. This is a very famous pose of Saddam firing off his rifle looking like Adolf Hitler.
I am still interested in the Sign, so if anyone knows where it is and wants to sale it please let me know.
Thank you
SSG Luna, Lorenzo

I took this item back in 2003, obviously the same shot of Saddam holding the rifle. It was in an Iraqi military complex we were staying at. It is made of some type of plastic material and was mounted on a metal frame with flourescent lights behind it designed to light the entire picture up. Any idea what it says in the top right corner?

How do you tell the Tunisian Order of the Republic and the Order of National Merit apart? Is it simply based on the piece that connects the ribbon to the medal? I recently purchased this medal and thought that it was the Order of the Republic, but after I saw your post on OMSA, I am unsure which medal I have. I will post pics in the next few days, but any info would be welcome. Thanks!

Good luck with the helmet. I think that all of those Darth Vader helmets were liberated by the first wave in '03. What are the odds of a third trip?
Paul
I've got a snowball's chance in Hell of not making a third trip! I just hope that I get to see a different part of Iraq this next time, getting kind of tired of Baghdad.

Great collection you have there! Did you bring these things back from a deployment?
Thanks Paul, I did bring these back from my first trip to Iraq. I didn't bring back much the second time, just fond memories! I am certainly going to keep my eyes open this next time for a few things, I would love to get one of those Fedayeen helmets.

Thanks for the generous offer Dave, but I already got ahold of a metal plate over here. I don't have it in hand yet to compare it to the one I was given, but I will shortly. Thanks again for the offer, that is exactly the type of thing that I enjoy so much about this forum and its members, the regular display of gentlemanly character.
