Thats quite a nice collection of helmets you have there.My goal is to aquire one nice clean example of each branch,eventually.

SS and the para that you have are going to be tough to find(and pay for).

The man I am buying this from I met through a forum and has been of great help to me.Both in finding items I'm looking for and researching of things I already have.I am proud to call him friend now.

I am really interested in finding out if I'm learning anything here lately.As in have I nailed the maker on this cross and what are other peoples' thoughts on Souval crosses?I personally have no problem with this cross,but in researcing it found that there is a lot of difference of opinion on these crosses.

Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures.I will post better once I get the cross.

As I said I am 99.9% sure this is a souval.I never realized how much difference the was from cross to cross.It was alot of fun trying to figure out who made it,as it is unmarked.One of my favorite things about this hobby is the research.

I'll try the pics again

It does have the round inner corners and sharp pointed outside corners.The "3" is lower in the date that the other numbers.If I knew how to crop picture size I would post it along with some of the other crosses I have.

What is the general opinion here on souval crosses?I have just aquired one that will be here later this week.I would post the pics that I have,but they are too large.

From all the research I've done it does look like a good wartime rounder,I'm just curious as to what others think.

That is a very clear cut and useful reference you have there Rick.If only more catalogues like that were available for badges,daggers,and the like,it would make collectin these items a little more cut and dried.

I never had any doubts about it til recently,seeing most of the ribbon bars with the felt backing I wondered if it fell off.But,it doesn't appear that it ever had any.I thought I would post it here and see what everyone else thought.I didn't pay much for it,but I hate repros unless I knew thats what it was when I bought it.

Here is the one and only mini I have.It's a Hindenburg cross and Prussian landwehr

long service award.I think these little medals have a great amount of detail considering the size. I was told that it was most likely manufactured between

1934-1938.any ideas on who may of manufactured it?

I know this is probably one of the most common ribbon bars in existance,but it was one of the 1st ones I ever bought.Just recently I got it out,and it doesn't look like all the ones I've been looking at lately.Anyone have any ideas on if it is period or not?

How rare are these award documents?What would one expect to pay for one?Is there anyway of matching a document to the award,as in knowing that the medal is the orginal issued at the same time?One last question,what should you be looking for to tell fake from an original document.Sorry to ask so many questions,but would like to step up into that next level of collecting and want to be as educated as possible before spending any money.

I'll take a stab at #8.I'm sure there is more wrong with it other than this,but why would there be swords on an EK 2 non-combatants ribbon.

Your also right about them being addictive,I'll have an EK 1 1939 in a few weeks

so that I'll have a 1st and 2nd class from both world wars.
