    1. Hello Danny, thanks so much and you are right ! I continued my search about the Rising Sun class awarded to Badoglio and I discovered that he received the : '1st Class Grand Cordon', so what you have written is extremely correct ! Regards Lilo
    2. Hello Danny, Very Much Apreciated ! Best Regards Lilo
    3. Hello Dan, interesting questions about which I also would like to know the answers (and so we wait the answers of the experts....) but I wonder why, if we consider all the previous photos of him wearing the various medals, the photos of his Full Size and Miniature medal racks and his Ribbon bar group, if entitled, in any of those, the US Philippine Campaign Medal is absent ?
    4. for what I know this is the original ribbon bar of Terruzzi.
    5. Hi 922F, The man whose photo I posted at the start of this Topic is Attilio Terruzzi. ATB Lilo
    6. This is what I mean (see the photo attached :
    7. Hi 922F, Many thanks for your replay ! Please, find attached 3 different types (different manufacturers) of the Breast Stars for the GC of the Crown of Italy : I agree with your idetification for many reasons altghout there is something in the shape of the perimeter of the breast stars and that in the photo I posted before that don't convince me 100% unless the 'blot' (i.e. the Eagle of Savoy) you refer is that on the 'hour 8' of the breast star in the B/W photo : am I correct ? You are also correct in the identification of the 'Italian Colonial Order of the Star GC star beneath'; The other star is completely unrecognizable but I agree with you again that it could be the 'Sts. Maurice & Lazarus Grand Officer star' ATB Lilo
    8. Dear All, I have attached a photo of a high ranking and very important person belonging to the Italian Fascist party in the years 1922-1945. What I would like to establish is what is the Breast Star (see the photo below) he is wearing : May it be the Spanish AL MERITO EN CAMPAÑA ? Or what else ? Hoping in your hel ATB Lilo
    9. Hi all, Many, many thanks for your very precious help : very much appreciated !
    10. OK, Many Thanks ! So the Breast Star is identical in size for both the 1st and 2nd classes and as Badoglio is wearing it on his right chest, He received the 2nd class : Am I correct about my entire statement ?
    11. Hello JapanX, many thanks for the prompt answer ! Which Class represent this Breast star ? (As I have not the property of this photo I cannot post it in the open forum (Sorry ) but I can say you that He is Pietro BADOGLIO of the Italian Army.) I asked the information on behalf of the person who held the original photo and that don't speak English. Again Many Thanks ATB Lilo
    12. Hi all, I'm posting a photo of a breast Star (indicated with a Red Arrow) that I have identified as that of the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun : Am I correct ? (I'm pretty sure it is NOT the breast Star of the Order of Paulownia Flowers and/or of the Order of the order of the Chrysanthemum) If I'm correct, which Class is it ? If you need to know who is the person that wears this Breast Star, simply ask. Many thanks in advance for your help ATB Lilo
    13. Dear All, I need your help because I'm trying to correctly identify which Order the Generalissimo (Field Marshall) Armando DIAZ, Supreme Commander of the Italian ARMY during last year of the WW1, bears on his chest. (I indicated it with a Red Arrow) The below photo is dated 1912 and in this photo He is a Colonel. However, I have another photo where He has the rank of Lt. Col. and already he wears the same Order so, I presume, that He received it before 1912. The Order in exame has a particular shade with 4 crossed arms and a romboidal centre; it is near the Prussian Red Eagle so I thought (surely wrongly) that it could have a German origin although it could be something of another part of the world. Any help (also a guess) would be greatly appreciated. ATB Lilo
    14. Hi, You are rigth : I mixed up the images. Now the correction is made !
    15. Hi Carol I, Many thanks for your replay ! So, must I deduce that the Cross with a transparent enamel is a reproduction / copy ? I made a search on this forum and discovered a post where 'fake vs original' Michael the Brave crosses were discussed but, unfortunately, in this topic the various images are vanished so no comparision is possible. I also read some other topic on the argument on another Romanian forum but I have not well understood which are the particulars we must check to make the difference between a fake and an original (also in the Romanian forum the photos are vanished or are very tiny to see the various differences). I would like to avoid to spend my money in a NOT Original Cross, so below, I'll post the photo of the front and of the back of the actual Cross I want to buy. (N.B.: If you click on the below image, a bigger one and more detailed will open) I would like to receive your precious opinion - in the open forum and/or by MP (as you prefer) - but please let me know your thinking about this cross : The invite is not only to Carol I (that I, again, thanks) but to all member that have knowledge on this particular Order. Awaiting to hear from you ATB Lilo
    16. Dear All, before buying the Order of Michael the Brave I need your precious help to try to understand better the manufacture of this Order. I have below attached a photo of two 1916's Crosses, each of them having a different blue enamell : the one on the right has a 'transparent' blue enamel; on the contrary, the one on the left has the matt / dull blue enamel. Some questions : 1) Must I consider both of the crosses I have posted below, as produced during WW1 (and/or soon after) ? 2) Does the difference in the Enamel indicate a different maker / producer of the Order ? 3) Does the difference in the Enamel indicate a different time of production of the Order ? And, If yes, which is the Enamel used in the WW1 era production : the matt / dull or the 'transparent' one ? 4) Does the 'transparent' enamel indicate a 'modern reproduction' or is it a WW1 era production ? Many thanks in advance to all that will give me their help. Awaiting to hear from you Best Regards Lilo
    17. Hi Ray, it would better for our database, if you could post a more clear photos of the front / back of such wounderful and not common medal. Awaiting to hear from you Thank you Best Regards Lilo
    18. Hi Ray, apologise for the delay in answering back to you ! They are all 3 : 'Sudan Defence Force General Service Medals' Regards lilo
    19. Hi again Paul, I have re-read what Mr. Autengruber have written (and you reported) and I would like to ask a further question : What is the meaning of ‘rues between the cross arms’ ? May be it means what, at the start point of this post, I called : ‘red enamelled part between the arms of the cross’ ? Further, may I ask you if you can added something about the other question (see below) : 'I also noted that the CENTRAL ENAMELLED CIRCLE of the Breast Star of this Order, is sometime enamelled in BLUE and sometime in GREEN : does this means a different maker / type, a different class or what else ?' Many Thanks Lilo
    20. Hi Paul, Many Thanks for this very interesting report that is an exaustive answer to my research. ATB Lilo
    21. Hi Dave and Paul, many thanks for this clarification : very much appreciated ! I also noted that the central enamelled circle of the Breast Star of this Order, is sometime enamelled in BLUE and sometime in GREEN : does this means a different maker / type, a different class or what else ?
    22. Dear Sirs, I would like to have your help, please…. Below I posted a photo of two different Saxe-Weimar, Order of the White Falcon (see nr. 1 and nr. 2). What I would like to know is why the badge in the photo nr. 1 is without the red enamelled part between the arms of the cross (see letter A) that, instead, is present (see letter B) on the photo nr. 2 ? Has this any particular meaning and/or indicate a particular type / period issue of this Order ? Or it identifies a different Class ? Or what ? Many thanks to all that will help me in understanding better this Order. ATB Lilo
