    1. Institutes on 18 May 2006. Awarded to citizens of the Russian Federation and others who assist in addressing and overcoming the challenges faced by the Federal Courier Service of Russia.
    2. Instituted on 29 March 2003. Awarded to soldiers and civilian employees of the Federal Protective Service, as well as to citizens of the Russian Federation or foreign citizens, for merit in strengthening the Brotherhood of Arms and military cooperation; for significant contribution to the achievement of positive results obtained in the course of joint activities; for specific assistance to the Russian FPS in dealing with a task.
    3. Instituted in 2006 by decree of the Minister of Internal Affairs. The medal comes in 2 variants, this one is plain, the second variant has enamel at its center.
    4. Instituted on 23 August 2000 by decree of the Defense Minister. Awarded to military personnel of the railway troops of the Russian Federation if previously awarded government or departmental awards of the Russian Federation or the USSR and who faultlessly served for more than 10 years; to generals, officers, ensigns, warrant officers, sergeants and soldiers, retired, dismissed from the railway troops of the Russian Federation, of the Armed Forces of the USSR, when previously awarded government or departmental awards of the Russian Federation or the USSR and who faultlessly served for railway troops for 20 years or more; to civilian personnel of military units, research institutions, enterprises, organizations and military educational institutions of vocational education for Russian railway troops when previously awarded government or departmental awards the Russian Federation or the Soviet Union and worked flawlessly in the railway troops for 10 years or more; to citizens who have made a significant contribution to the tasks entrusted to the railway troops of the Russian Federation. Five corner mount for serving military personnel. Four corner mount for civilians and veterans.
    5. Instituted on 4 February 1999 by decree of the Defense Minister. Awarded to members of the railway troops of the Russian Federation who faultlessly served for railway troops of the Russian Federation for not less than five years on military posts, in the ranks of Warrant Officer or officer, who demonstrated initiative, dedication and distinction in official responsibilities and made great personal contribution to resolving the special challenges faced by the troops, training and education of personnel, the strengthening of military readiness, research, legal and personnel support for the railway troops of the Russian Federation.
    6. Instituted on 10 April 2001 by decree of the Defense Minister. Awarded for outstanding achievements and performance to civilian personnel of military units, research institutions, enterprises, organizations and military educational institutions of vocational education for railway troops.
    7. Instituted on 10 April 2001 by decree of the Defense Minister. Awarded to military personnel of the railway troops of the Russian Federation for outstanding contribution to the development of railway troops, success in maintaining high combat readiness, for excellent performance in training and other achievements during military service

    9. Instituted on 5 June 2000 by decree of the Defense Minister. Awarded to civilian personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for outstanding performance, for high achievements in the industrial, scientific, socio-cultural activities and services in the training of highly qualified personnel.
    10. The Sacrifice Medal was created to recognize a member of the Canadian Forces, a member of an allied force, or a Canadian civilian under the authority of the Canadian Forces who, as of October 7, 2001, died or was wounded under honourable circumstances as a direct result of hostile action.     12. This is the bogus 10th anniversary medal with award document. Many civilian and/or veterans' and/or political associations/committees bestow medals with very official looking documents and have their own also quite official looking stamps. These are unofficial (non governmental) awards. This is a perfect example of such a medal.
    13. FAPSI is the Russian acronym for the Federal Agency for Government Communication and Information. The medal for Military Valour is awarded to military personnel of FAPSI for excellent performance in training, for special distinction while performing normal military or combat duties, military exercises and maneuvers; for courage, dedication and other merits as demonstrated in the performance of military duty. The 1st and 2nd classes are bestowed sequentially, 2nd class, then 1st class. 1st class: gold 2nd class: silver
    14. Instituted on 6 December 2002 by decree of the Minister for Emergency Situations. Awarded to soldiers, officers and employees of the State Fire Service of the MES of Russia, army troops and civil defense officials of the Russian MES, and in some cases to other citizens of the Russian Federation, for courage and dedication while extinguishing fires, rescuing people and saving property from fire; for leadership in leading firefighting efforts and rescuing people; for courage, perseverance and high professionalism as demonstrated in order to prevent an explosion or fire.
    15. Instituted on 14 May 2002 by decree of the Minister for Emergency Situations. Awarded to military and civilian aviation personnel of EMERCOM for outstanding performance of their assigned duties whether in flying, logistics or engineering operations. A helicopter or jet transport device can be worn on the ribbon.
    16. Instituted on 3 August 2005 by decree of the Minister for Emergency Situations. Awarded to soldiers and members of the State Fire Service of Russia who have worked with EMERCOM for at least 5 years, for dedication and exemplary work in fire fighting, during natural disasters, in saving lives and protecting public property, in actively promoting fire safety, for high achievements in developing and putting into application advanced technologies used to fight fires.
    17. Instituted on 25 March 1998 by decree of the Minister for Emergency Situations. Awarded to employees with at least 5 years of service with the MES (EMERCOM) of Russia and that have been previously awarded one of the badges of merit of the MES of Russia; for merit in initiatives, development and implementation of successful rescue management methods resulting in successful operations, excellent performance in preventing and alleviating the consequences of accidents and natural disasters, for long and impeccable service in the cause of civil defense and disaster relief management.
    18. Instituted on 4 October 2001. Awarded to military and civilian personnel of the Federal Security Service for outstanding achievements and distinction in the planning and execution of special operations crucial to the security of the Russian Federation. Awarded with swords only for direct participation when military or special weapons were used.
    19. Instituted on 4 October 2001. Awarded to military and Federal Security Forces for participation in or support of counter-terrorist operations. For the faithful execution of their duties while in the area of counter-terrorist operations in the territory of the North Caucasus region for a period of not less than seven months; regardless of the amount of time of personal involvement in counter-terrorism operations if Meritorious in the operations. The Director of the Federal Security Service may award the Medal to other citizens who actively assisted the authorities in the conduct of counter-terrorist operations.
    20. Instituted on 4 October 2001 and awarded to military and civilian personnel of the Federal Security Service (ex-KGB), to other citizens of the Russian Federation or to foreign citizens, for merit in strengthening the military brotherhood, for effective cooperation in law enforcement or military activities aimed at strengthening the Security Services of the Russian Federation.
    21. Instituted on 11 September 2007 by decree of the Defense Minister. Awarded to soldiers and officers of Space Forces for initiative, diligence and distinction shown in the line of duty in military service for 20 years or more and already awarded the insignia of Merit for Space Forces.
    22. Instituted on 19 February 2003 by decree of the President of the Russian Federation. Awarded to participants of the wartime defense of Leningrad, persons awarded a medal for the defense of Leningrad; residents who were blockaded in Leningrad; wartime workers who worked during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in Leningrad and were awarded state awards; citizens who have made a significant contribution to the development of St. Petersburg.
    23. Instituted on 30 July 2005 by decree of the President of the Russian Federation. Awarded to residents of the city of Kazan who fought in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, wartime workers who worked during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in the city of Kazan for at least six months or that were awarded orders and medals of the Soviet Union for their dedicated work in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, veterans of labour; citizens who have made a significant contribution to the development of the city of Kazan.
