It says top right is the old one from the 70s & 80s...

Suggestion: start an image gallery here on GMIC of all your work... This talent MUST be recorded somewhere for posterity.

Megs, I meant the Dutch is at the top versus the bottom like the other post 1951 variants I have. I know the pre 1951 ones were uni lingual French.

Finally got myself one of each. I noticed the gold medal has the Dutch writing on top in lieu of at the bottom... Simply means a Dutch speaking recipient I gather?

Really nice to see a photographic record like that! This is usually only found in military units.

Was wondering about that myself ?
Not that I know of...

A National Film Board of Canada 48 minute colour documentary on the Canadian contingent at the 1953 coronation... A true historical treasure I just happened to stumble upon.
Enjoy!!

Yup... The original looks better under proper lighting.
I was under the impression this order would no longer be bestowed upon Russian citizens but recent award ceremonies have gone opposite the last decree concerning this award... Any special reason?

The fake looks better...

You'd make a killing at a large militaria auction...

Ribbon medaille des bleeses, above the middle medal.
He's right, I missed that one.

Romantique ...
There’s nothing like the sound of a happy and content proletariat signing patriotic songs to the hum of well timed tractors… Always brings a tear to my eye…

Nice to see a few Orders of Labour Glory still being worn...
And in the incorrect order "before" the federation Order for Merit...

I must admit... There's most definitely an air of the past in that particular presentation... One can almost imagine the sound of farm tractors parading just outside below the balcony...

Frank,
I've got to agree with the Muscovite friend at Sammler.ru... they've replaced the symbol OF the worker (hammer and sickle) with a symbol that OPPRESSED the worker (the Czarist double headed eagle). While the idea may be on the up-and-up (we'll see), the symbol used is completely contradictory.
I honestly hadn't thought of that...
A very valid point !

P.S. By the way, first awardings were made today
Thanks! I'll go have a look at the President's web site, they usually have really good pictures.

I bet they are simply not affiliated with these mythical "workers' groups and unions" who "had been pressure for years ... to reestablish a state award" ...
Indeed...
I'm serious though... A Muscovite friend (that I think you know from Sammler.ru) is in full fury over it. He thinks it's the dumbest thing ever! And he detests the fact they slapped the bi-cephalic eagle on a star, he simply detests it!
