Vladimir Brezhnev? Or is it Leonid Putin?

I've met him a few times during mess dinners, unless he's radically changed, he's quite a nice man and just might be very flattered...

I must admit at being a bit surprised we hadn't already presented him a CMM years ago...

Bring your bust of him, have him autograph the base!

It was only a matter of time IMHO. There had been pressure for years on the Russian Government by workers' groups and unions to reestablish a state award to replace the Soviet Era's "Hero of Labour of the Soviet Union".
On 29 March 2013, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed presidential decree №294 establishing the title "Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation"
The title is awarded to citizens of the Russian Federation for special services in labour to the state and its people associated with the achievement of outstanding results in public, social and economic activities aimed at ensuring the welfare and prosperity of Russia.

Who'd know? Anyway, only sand the front and back... Don't sand over the wonderful art on the sides...

I find in amazing that there was never a definitive list of the Canadian Forces Decoration ever created at the Government level, when one can easily search the Canadian Archives site or the Governor General web page and find the names of the recipients for valour awards. OMM/MMM's including current exemplary service medal and even the QJM and QDJM. Yet we fail to produced a list of CD recipients and more so, missed a generation of service members particularly those that served 12 years or more during the cold war era and most often the CD was only medal they received while in uniform, with the exception of UN Cyrus medal , 1967 Centennial medal or 1977 Jubilee medal (the SSM and CPSM entitlement was post 1990’s).

I couldn't agree more... Especially when one takes into account it is a "decoration"...

I have seen and had many veteran friends that had earned the efficiency medal and later the CD, they wore both for they were awarded for independent time in service.
The CD was awarded for 12 years following award of the efficiency medal or one of its clasps.

Quite the dilemma... Even at unit level, these names would simply be part of the end of year "unit historical report" destined for local (or sometimes higher formation) archives. But as far as a re searchable database... The (NDHQ) office responsible for shipping out all ODMs to units for bestowal MUST have an electronic record, but as far as being able to access it... Good luck.

I haven't found the ministerial order yet... Any help would be greatly appreciate!

The Ministry for Emergency Situations is also bestowing a medal in recognition of support and/or direct participation in the Victory Day Parade on Red Square.

Hello Gents,
This morning I saw this "4 dagen van de IJzer mars" medal om a fleamarket. I couldn't resist to buy it... only 2€. A 2003 edition
I saw it has a new view.....I'm afraid the guy on the medal doesn't look like King AlbertI anymore. But what can you expect for 2 €...
kind regards,
Jef
I just found myself one like yours but dated 1999...
As you mention, he now looks nothing like King Albert... I think he looks more like Tom Jones!

This was done in response to years of lobbying from labor unions and workers' groups, don't let the media turn this into what it isn't... Putin signed the decree that was laid on his desk, any other president would've done the same.
They also mention his reintroduction of the red star for the military, it never left... Bit of freelancing BS by the journalist, the unfortunately ever present media sensationalism.

Wow! What a set!

Also can't find anything
Well, since it's "honoured" award - there could be no ministerial order for it at all ...
I'll keep my eyes open
P.S. Nice looking badge by the way
Actually, it does have one... But for some really weird reason, whenever an award is for people that "might" be doing something classified, they don't publish it.
Many FSB and a few MVD awards have unpublished establishment orders... Drives me nuts!
Same for commemorative badges, it's often VERY DIFFICULT to find the ministerial or departmental orders, I've found dozens but only after months and months of searching Russian legal and governmental web sites.

I must say I am quite surprised at the extremely cold, even frigid welcome by Russian friends for this revived award ... They hate it with a passion!
