2 questions:

1- This one has M.S.A. in lieu of a year on the top bar, at the minimum I would've expected M.E.S.A.. Any idea of the year and why this inscription?

2- Any idea what the ribbon device means?

IMHO, such a small representation might've been worn on the chest or sticking out of the boutonnière by a non Russian who probably had Orders from his own country that had precedence.

Click on the pics, it'll blow them up, the names are on the cards next to the medals. Only a few of their units are missing, I'm hoping to get that info next time I drive down there.

Some interest and questions arose about Canada General Service Medals so I thought I'd share these 6 I found in the Knowlton (Quebec) museum. All are to local boys from Waterloo, Knowlton and Brome Quebec.

Regardless of construction material, those are incredible!! I've built well over 500 plastic model aircraft of all scales from 1/72 to 1/24 in my younger days, but people like you that do this from scratch are true artists IMHO!

I agree with the "better late than never"... But am so crossed at the debate in the first place. Seems many people require to read up on what a battle honour is and what the intent in granting one is.

Pride, morale, history, values, sacrifice, rememberance, etc... Too many see it as a mere expensive decoration... I've been in a multi year fight to get 2 missing battle honours for my squadron and have had to face unbelievable bureaucratic stupidity...
