I just got in this nice early Order of the Red Cross 1st class and noticed a marked difference with my 2nd class, the crowns are different.
I was wondering if this simply due to different makers of if Belgian monarchs used different crowns like the British kings and queens do?

Thanks, already had this, I have the ODM pages for just about every single Russian ministry/department/sub department/agency/corner office/cubicle...
If they're like other Russian governmental web sites though, they tend to be VERY slow at upgrades. EMERCOM is 4 years behind the ball right now, the Defence Ministry made a new site 3 years after the last changes had taken effect, then didn't give a link from the old to the new... The list goes on and on... Even the main federal ODM site... FAPSI took care of the old one from 1999 to 2003 when they were sucked back into the FSB, nobody upgraded it until the new site in 2010, and 7 months later they bothered to put a link to the new one from the old one... Its usually a pain because even if you do stumble onto an ODM page, you can rarely be 100% sure its the one being presently used.

Sweet, especially the 1870-71! Gotta get me one of those...

Have you seen their prices???
Good Lord all mighty!
You'd think they were selling Imperial Orders at those prices!
Almost every item has a zero too many left of the decimal... And the only items I need, they don't have.
Thanks, but if I dealed with those schmucks, I'd have to sell my car. They make Saslugi prices seem low, very low!

I found this badge on a Russian auction site... Remind you of anything?
Eerie isn't it?
It is identified by the seller as a MVD badge of the "Office against organised drug traficking". I have yet to find ANY documentation on this item and strongly believe it to be (strongly hope it to be) an unadopted prototype.
Still... Yikes! Too close.

Nice! Wish I could draw like that... :(

The light and picture quality do make a big difference... That's why I have 3 gold medals and zero bronze...

I guess it's still possible to find nice bargains... Bought this little beauty for a mere $31.

I remember reading it somewhere but simply cannot find my reference (and it's driving me nuts!
)
Can somebody please direct me to a list of "FOREIGN" recipients of this medal? I don't require the entire 5000 name long list, even a short list would be appreciated. (Where is that
book of mine?!?)

Yup... Would be great if you reposted the pics of those incredible models!

Neg... No on-line catalog huh? Will e-mail them I guess.
Merci beaucoup! :cheers:

Jef, I contacted Mauquoy a few months ago... The problem with them is they refuse to ship via the normal post, even registered insisting it is unreliable. They insist on a private company, they want 105+ EURO to ship 50 EURO's worth of medals... :mad:

Something you'd think would be rather easy to find is proving to be quite difficult and I can't figure out why. Maybe some of you can shed some light on why I'm having such difficulty in finding the silver and bronze medals of the Crown Order...
I've had the gold medal for a long time... I saw a bronze medal for sale and bought it, when I received it, it was gold... Last week I saw another bronze medal for sale, I received it this morning, it's another gold one... -SIGH-
I'm on the verge of tears... Where can I find a silver medal and a bronze medal?? (BTW, I have a few Leo II gold ones to trade for them if you're interested!
)

I'm not usually a firearm enthusiast, but this rather rare piece also seems to be in particular great shape! Congrats on your sweet acquisition!
Got tired of bath towels? ;)

A picture my friend... A picture is worth a thousand words. It is quite difficult to assess anything based on a simple description.
