    1. Next up is my Bayerischer Kreigerbund Erinnerungsabzeichen zum 50jährigen Verbandsjubiläum, 1874-1924 (CARL POELLATH SCHROBENHAUSEN) [N66]. This is listed incorrectly in Tieste as a tinnie, Bayern T24-01, but is shown on page 71 of Abzeichen und Auszeichnungen Deutscher Kriegervereine 1800-1943 by Jörg Nimmergut, in Bayerischer Kriegerbun, from 1874 as #66.

    2. Hi Chris and Wildcard

Thanks for your thoughtful replies, and I agree wholeheartedly with both of your sentiments. I just found the branding of people who should or should not know any different as being the stupidest people on ebay somewhat offensive. The first word of this sites name is Gentleman's, and that is not a gentlemanly way of addressing un or under educated collectors :) I have been away for some time, and look forward to posting photos of my collections, and helping out where I can. I am, good sirs, a gentleman!

    3. Take a look at the Recently Sold list of "raeritaetensammlerclub" and you will see the largest selection of fake german orders and badges matched up with the stupidest buyers on ebay. It is scary how good the Bavarian MVOs are compared to his garbage only a few years ago. Where is he getting them???

If he doesn't have it, he can have it made for you!

That's an extremely harsh and totally unwarranted thing to say about people who have bought from him on ebay. I suggest to you that just because someone isn't a member of a forum, or for that matter, aren't even aware that this, or the handful of other similar sites even exist, hardly makes them stupid. If you are a young or even old, but still a new or inexperienced buyer, and you find a seller with very high feedback numbers, and is rated at 100%, and the items sure look good (some even to the trained eye, as attested to here), why, according to you, does that make you one of the stupidest buyers on ebay if you then buy something from these dodgy dealers? I sure made mistakes when I started collecting. I've bought fakes, been ripped off, paid way too much etc. It's a learning curve. The internet has been a boon for collectors like me, the amount I have learnt from people here and elsewhere has proved invaluable. However, for years I didn't even know about this or any other collectors sites. I guess I was also one of the stupidest people on ebay. Maybe you were born perfect, good for you. Unfortunately most of us weren't.

    4. I saw this on a site I frequent, the seller is a scammer IMHO, having sold a "genuine Totenkopf ring", with H Himmler inscribed on the inside, a Hindenburg Cross that is a genuine pre-1918 manufacture, and a 1957 EKI and EKII with oakleaves and swords, amongst other genuine items! This is his latest, here is the description, what do you guys think?

"A mint German Kyffhauserbund Veterans Cap.It is in mint condition and was picked up in Chile on a trip I made there about three years ago.Inside it has the Maker name "KYFFHAUSERMIITZE" Gesetzlich & Geschutzt 14 which must be the hat size.On the outside band it has Iron Crosses all around it along with Tower like symbol. It also has a Silver cap emblem with to Tower-Cross and 1786 on it.Sensible offers will be considered."

His starting bid is $175 New Zealand, which is about 87.5 euros. Whilst I am unfamiliar with a pre-1945 German hat manufacturer called "KYFFHAUSERMIITZE", I do know that Gesetzlich & Geschutzt, or more accurately Geschützt means legally and protected. Could this be real? Or is it more likely a cheap knock-off made in Chile, complete with "Iron Crosses all around it!" OR!! As the present day Kyffhäuserbund is a shooting sports association, is this a modern day cap for the sporting shooter?

    5. Correct. The Kyffhäuserbund-Ehrenzeichen was an award for outstanding membership. There are two classes 2nd class in silver and 1st class in gold. We can find six different models. M1 is with text "Der Kyffhäuserbund seinem Kameraden", M1a with clasp, M1b with small metal band. After renaming the Kyffhäuserbund to NS-Reichskriegerbund the awards become the text "Der NS-Reichskriegerbund seinem Kameraden". This M2 is only with small metal band to fix it. And, of course, all in silber and gold and M1 and M2 with award documents.

This awards are worn on the right side armband, half under Reichskriegerbund-Emblem.

Hi Debbi/Ulsterman! Thanks for this, I always thought my Ehrenzeichen WAS a cap badge! Now all I need is an armband to pin mine on and I'm set! Just to clarify things for my own records, do I have a 2nd class M1, or M1a? It is the pinback, so what is the difference between the M1 and M1a please?

    6. Still quiet here. Thought I'd post these.

      Cheers

      Don

Hi Don! I have recently purchased the small version on the LHS for myself, although it does not have the same pin, just a straight pin with no knurling(?) marks on it, and it has no makers mark on the top reverse, but does have GES. GESCH on the bottom. How exactly would I describe this pin for my records please? And what does Ges. Gesch indicate? Thanks mate!

    7. Good morning gents, I received a question from someboy who bought one of my 1914 EKIIs, who pointed out that the tiny cross on top of the crown was missing. I had a look at all my other EKIIs and discovered that about half of them did not have clear crosses on top of the crown. Some had a sphere like shape, yet all are magnetic, and all are maker marked. I had no answer for him, have I sold him a dud, and in return, is half my collection fake?
