Thanks for that Alex, and thanks for that link!

Thanks Doc and Eddie! Eddie, do you think these two I have are also made in the Moscow Mint, like Ed said my Order of the Patriotic War medal is? I'm guessing since I didn't pay a fortune for it, it wouldn't be the scarce original type!

Thank you Belaruski, do you know if that is the actual name of the medal (in English)?

Yes, it's an Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class, type 3, variation 2 (no dimple around screwpost base). This one was produced in the Moscow Mint.
Thanks for the book tip Ed, I will look for that as I have taken a liking to the appearance of some of these Soviet medals. And Ferdinand, thanks for that answer. When you say it was produced in the Moscow Mint, are these just replicas of original medals? Does that number then have no meaning, or is it just a number for the replica? Thanks again fellas!

Okay, thanks again gents for your help! My records are now correct! I didn't know it wasn't a military award, but it is a nice looking one, and I'm glad I received it none the less. I never got one for slaving away all those years when I was working for the government!

And another plea gentlemen! This also arrived today, with the label in German being Orden Medaille UDSSR CCCP Vaterl?nd Krieg 2. Klasse. Could someone let me know what the correct name of the medal is in English please? This is the first one of these I have bought, and it looks great!
Thanks again!

Here is the second one that arrived today, this one is the same as the other except it is gold in the centre. Once again it was labelled Orden Medaille Russland F?r Dienst in Innenministerium. Once more, could someone tell me the name of the order in English please?
Thanks again gents!

Good afternoon gents! This arrived today with the description in German being Orden Medaille Russland F?r Deinst in Inneministerium, which I gather is something along the lines of Order Medal Russia for service in some ministery. Could anyone tell me the name of the award in English please? (for my records!) It is red with silver centre.

Hello gentlemen, I received this badge, and it was labelled Preussischer Orden in Messing, Krone und L?we. Is that the correct name of this badge please? Would it be best described as a badge or a medal? And does anyone know what sort of criteria was associated with this please? Thank you as usual!

Hello all! I received this in the mail today, and was led to believe it is a US Veteran of Foreign Wars medal, is that correct? It does say that on the front, but is that the official name of the medal?

Hello gentlemen! I received this today, and it was labelled Saudi Arabian 1991 Gulf War Combat medal for US servicemen. Is this correct please? I don't have a photo of the reverse, but it is smooth sided.
Is that the correct name of this award? Thanks!

Hi Dan, do you know what state that crest signifys at all?

Gotcha on that Kevin, but I was wondering the difference between the two ribbon bars for the two different medals. One is a plain ribbon bar, and the other has the cross on it, so I was guessing the medal with the ribbon bar with the little cross on it, is a higher grade than the medal with the plain ribbon bar?

Sorry Kevin, I didn't even look for an Austrian section... Thanks again!

Thanks Kev, so would I be right in thinking the one with the cross on the ribbon bar is a higher grade than the one with a plain ribbon bar? Is red, white, red a standard ribbon colour for the fire brigade or is it representitive of a particular German state? The ribbons are, or seem to me at any rate, as new, and the medals themselves appear either new or close to new. I shall get some better photos soon1
