Thanks for that mate I appreciate the help - most of the buyers on this site never venture onto the net beyond their own site from what I can see so I always try and research for them here and elsewhere when time permits

Thanks Christer - I don't know anything about Zeppelin or Navy obvserver badges but I do have a U-boat badge that actually has a U-boat on it I had a look at the Zeppelin pilots badge and it doesn't have ZEPPELIN written on the side - so I wasn't sure about a crew badge

Hello from hot and humid Shanghai gents. I noticed this badge on a New Zealand site sorry I can't post a photo here I'm using a Chinese laptop and can't decipher some of the keys and ‘save image’ etc so I can only post a link bear with me please. As I've already politely informed the seller about her ‘genuine’ WW1 German tank badges flaws I was concerned about this badge. I've searched this site for any reference to a Zeppelin crew badge and came up short. Here is the link

If it is a fantasy piece, I'd like to let others know.

In fairness to the seller I bought a nice Mecklenberg Cross off her with no complaints and I've bid on her Veterans membership badge but the rest of her German items don't exactly fill me with confidence - any help with opinions that I can post on the site re these items would be greatly appreciated and thanks again gents!

Hi Paul
Thanks for your input mate, can I ask you what it is about the sweat band that you don't like? I am on a steep learning curve This is the description on the site:
Original summer white top visor hat with aluminum eagle and cockade. Red piped for flak. Black leather chin strap. Inside clear celuloid maker label sewn in top., "Meister Klasse". Leather sweat band front right and left side leather split, front center, right and left rear sides and rear center intact. White top age yellowing. Overall very good for a hard to find summer type visor.

Good evening gents. I have never bought a hat before, but this one has taken my eye! As I know nothing of value about headwear, can anyone give me any thoughts on this please? Is there a rough market value for such a hat?

It does have a few fine cracks, nothing serious.

Just in, although I'm not sure where Reservistika should be posted? Here is my Bierkrug, 4./93 AR, Würzburg. I like it, it's the first one I've bought.

An excellent Junkers factory postcard featuring a kette (formation of three planes) of Ju-52/3m's.

Excellent shot from the cockpit of an air-sea rescue Junkers Ju-52, affectionately known by the Germans as Tante Ju (Auntie Ju) and Iron Annie by the Allies. Notice the all-white colour scheme and the oversize red cross markings, which would hopefully stop it being shot down by the enemy. Of interest, when Berlin's famous Templehof airport closed on 30.10.2008, the last two planes to take off were a Douglas DC-3 and a Junkers Ju-52, arguably the two best medium transport aircraft of the war.
