Early pair by Hoffmann with zippers on the inner and outer sides. They appear unused. The boots are all black, but for some reason the camera picks up a little purplish hue.

Fabulous equipment, Jos! Wherever do you find this treasure?

What a great collection, and nice to see such a varied display of U.S. militaria. Rattle, your arranging and photography/editing is pure art! Nicely done.

Hello Nesredep,
If you know of period photos showing short-lead helmets, please post them if you can!

Thank you, Jeremy! Your advice is appreciated. I was hoping for a lower value, for selfish purposes If I get the Wehrpass, I will certainly post more of it.

Kevin

I would like to buy this Wehrpass from a fellow who has offered it to me, but I don't really have a good idea of value. I can find no similar items with which to compare. Could somebody hazard a guess?
One interesting aspect is that the soldier began the war as an infantryman, and ended up as a Luftwaffe observer.

That's a really sweet observer light w/accessories, Fran?ois. I'd love to have one of those!

This face mask was used by air crew in open-air cockpits and perhaps other personnel such as air gunners. Also came in handy at Halloween. The flap opens for use of a mouthpiece oxygen system. Here I've shown the mask as it might have been worn.

Nice one, Wessel! I got some other items belonging to the goblet winner, as well. Unfortunately, the Ehrenpokal award document was not one of them.

I love this one because you can see the drums in the carriers, hung from the tripod legs.

Here's some MG 15 photos I have. Enjoy!

Magazine cover of air gunner using MG 15.

Definitely looks like an MG 15 mounted for AA. I haven't seen a rear sight like that before, though. I'm especially fond of equipment and weapons photos like these.

Nice combat setup, Paul. I also like the Luftwaffe HBT tunics, which are excellent for displaying combat/field gear. I'll have to get mine in order one day.

You are unlikely to find a gold clasp in that condition for less than what you stated, so if you really want one, this is a good chance!

I'm having a hard time deciding if this is a bronze or gold example. Which is it? Photos can be tricky. From these photos, I like the clasp. 400 ? would be a good price for an example in gold. Probably at the high end for bronze.

Thanks, guys. I never actually thought I'd own one of these, but a stroke of luck/coincidence made it possible: This came up for sale out of an old collection just about the same time I received my end-of-year bonus from work. It was spent before my wife even knew how much it was.

Nice to have original matching K98s! I have an import non-matched one that I use as a shooter, but no matched one. I don't know what these are going for anymore. You might check some of the gun sites such as gunbroker.com to find the market value.
