I'm afraid I'm going to have to dig through a few boxes to find the photo. I'll post when I find it!

Can you, please, make a high definition close up of the stick pin
Do you mean that little diamond-shaped thing on his left lapel? I'll try my best later this evening.

I've seen 5l, 10l, 18l (backpack), and 20l (jerry can) sizes. I'm told that there's also a 15l size. I personally have only the 5 and 10l sizes, two of each. I purchased an 18l type about a year ago, but it never arrived.

That's a nice little tidbit, Hardy. Thank you!

The stitching of the piping is virtually invisible, as it is underneath the center of the piping. Here you can see a stitch just barely peeking out.

Not bad for a weekend's work! What's the smaller pouch in the first picture?

I'm sure this will be of interest.
Wow, nice catch there!

... The article I cited above showed a steel handle machete in the canvas frog that was credited to the collection of Patrick Caldwell. Norwest78, do you know if perhaps that was the source of your example? Is it marked with a LW acceptance stamp?
Hi Joe,
There is no acceptance stamp on mine, and I don't know of any association with Patrick Caldwell. Great set you have there!

Very nice of you to post those, Andreas. Now, unfortunately, I'm going to have to pester you for yours.

For a couple of years, I've had a grouping of photos that follow a LW soldier through various stages in his career. Then the other day on ebay, I spotted another photo of him. What's more, the photo showed him at a later stage, when he'd received his EK1 and NCO promotion. Quite a coincidence, and I'm happy to say that I was able to get the photo at auction. It is the last one posted here.

Kevin

Nice assortment, Fran?ois! What's in that little pouch that's under the flap of the bag in the upper left?

Besides the hardware, that's a very interesting-looking bird, Jos. The tail shows exaggerated "scalloping" on the end, whereas most tails are cut very "straight".

Hello Fran?ois. I'm afraid I can't get an image any more clear than the one you posted above. It looks to me like a four-leaf clover.
