I'm going to be out in Singapore next month and have been on the look out for ww2
war booty but now have 2nd thoughts on bringing anything like swords back with
all this tightened security at airports.
I'm also going to check out a Japanese war cemetery in Malaysia while I?m there. It seems some of the old Japanese victory monuments have been dumped in the cemetery grounds as well. I?ll try and get some pics for the forum.

Trade competition victor badges with their accompanying award documents.
The Riechssieger came in a black case of issue. The Kriessieger and Gausieger normaly
came in just a red or blue cardboard box.
The Kreissieger award doc with other related competition paper work. This particular
individual went on to be Gaussiger and Riechssiger. All the award documents have a grumpy
Adolph portrait on the inside cover to greet their new owners. charming.
The Gausieger award document. Notice the facsimile of the Gausieger badge on the cover
of the folder.
And finally the Reichssieger the highest award one could attain. The award document at
this level came as a hardbound folder.
This particular one is covered in linen, I've seen other different designed examples,
for example the one shown in Philip Baker's book has a mock wood veneer cover.
The document was personally signed by Dr Ley and von Schirach.
Anyone with more trade competition and related badges please post them.

Sword brought back from Singapore after the war by a late friend of mine. As he was an officer he
had the pick of booty that was confiscated from the Japanese at one of the collection points so
he brought back this piece.
Nothing to special, from what I have been told it's a Showa WW2 produced sword.

Very nice bar Rick.
No bars in my collection but here are my polizei pieces.
One day hopefully I will track down the alpanist and hoch alpanist badges.
Police qualification badges have to be my most favorite of all 3rd reich badges.

Here's a cased silver grade Gau Berlin badge.
The Gau Berlin badge came onto the scene in 1936 instituted by Goebbels.
The Gau Berlin came in two grades, gold and silver. 665 silvers were thought to have been
awarded, 41 being to women. For the Gold grade only around 30 were awarded.
The reverse was serial numbered and maker marked Lauer of Nurnberg which as far as I known
was the sole maker of this badge.

Great post Gordon. Admitedly that's the first time I have seen the 57 fire cross.
And there I was thinking Gordon was just a Uboat man

Nice badges Bob.
I see these days some dealers asking near $1000 mark for the full size and mini
badges together.
Does anyone have the HJ leaders Sportbuch to show?

I actually saw a cased example on Manions a while back. Although I suspect
the case had nothing to do with the pin.

The mini isn't serial numbered, the only markings it has is its RZM markings.

The badge above was manufactured by Gustav Brehmer. Brehmer also made
National Trade Competition badges. Note the same circular wreaths used
between the Golden leaders badge and their National trade comp badges.

To qualify to wear this badge HJ leaders had to already hold the HJ
proficiency badge in silver and score highly in a annual sporting event
"fuhrerzehnkampf" comprising of 10 sporting activities.

With the help of the internet Monty Backer was able to find more info about
the history of the school building itself in Egendorf.
Here is his writeup, unfortunately the forum suffered a crash and the pics
are temporally MIA ...

Here's a postcard I found on the net showing the Egendorf School building.
I didn't think these pins were faked yet, that's until I saw this one on a shifty US
dealer site. Very sloppy in its details, not to mention the DIY pin jobbie.
If anyone else has more info on these pins please share...

These are interesting pins, they are thought to be graduation pins for those who
attended the Staatsschule fur Fuhrertum u.Politik in Egendorf.
There are 2 types of pin I have seen, one comes as a stick pin and another in pin
back form. They can be found either with 0.800 or 0.900 silver marks.

Great items guys.
I've still yet to see a period photo of the 1st class pin back in wear.
I did spy a post on "another" forum a while back by someone claiming of
owning a album with a portrait pic of the badge in wear, alas he had sold
it before he made any scans of the priceless photo. doh.

I 2nd that, some great items posted here.

Here's the non portable award with the normal sized badge.

serial numbered to reverse.

Yes I'm sure Himmler did get a 1st class decoration as well as did most other highranking SS.

Not the awards awarded to the athletes but awards presented to individuals who helped organize the
games themselves. Reinhard Heydrich was one such unsavory character to be awarded the 1st class
decoration.
The 1st class decoration was worn from the neck and the 2nd class from a ribbon. The 1st class was
awarded 767 times with the 2nd class being awarded 3364 times.

An original 43mm 2nd class fire brigade decoration medal. Awarded for 25 years long service and worn from a ribbon.
