Hi Hugh! I think you are right about it being a 3rd. class medal. On the Thai Secretariat of the Cabinet's website, Rama IX's medals have the same appearance, and the one with the red enameled exterior is the 3rd. class. Secretariat of the Cabinet Site Other than that, I really can't find any other info in English that is helpful. I have a wonderful contact in Bangkok! Thanks! Jason
Through research I believe the offical title of this medal is: "Commemorative Medal on the Occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's Reign" Jason
Can anyone provide any information on the Thai Royal Cypher medals? I have found a few sites with some photos, but really not too much other information. I am intersted in the different variations, and classes there are...especially the Rama VI era. If you could post any photos and info you have, I would really appreciate it! Thanks a bunch! Jason
Hi again everyone! Can anyone tell me what the official size of the medals for 3rd., 4th., & 5th. classes of the Order of the Crown, & Order of the White Elephant should be? I know that 4th. & 5th. are identical except for the addition of the rosette to the 4th., and the 3rd. is on a neck ribbon, and a little larger in diameter, but what other difference in diameter (or anything else) are there...if any? Thanks again! Jason
Even the website for the Thai Secretariat of the Cabinet shows them in what appears to be white/silver metal, the Border Service Medal in yellow/gold. Jason
Hello! I have never seen photographs of the Korean, or Vietnam, medals in yellow metal, only in white/silver. The Border Service Medal is in yellow/gold though. Jason
Hello Everyone! I have a question about the various Thai Victory medals (WWII, Vietnam, Korean). Is there a difference in the actual medal (or suspension device) of these medals (composition, size, verbage, etc.), or is the only difference between them the ribbon style? Thank you in advance for any information you can provide!! Best regards, Jason
Hi Everyone!! I was just wondering if this is the correct ribbon for this medal? I looks similar to ones I have seen, but to me it looks as if the white stripes are too wide. Thank you! Jason
Hello! I was hoping someone could tell me about this medal? From the appearance of the ribbon, it seems to relate to the Belgian Congo. Thank you for any information you can provide!! Jason
Hello everyone! Are these the correct style of ribbon bars for this medal? The ones I have seen for this one before appear to have a braided appearance.... Thank you again! Jason
