    1. Hi Hugh!

I think you are right about it being a 3rd. class medal. On the Thai Secretariat of the Cabinet's website, Rama IX's medals have the same appearance, and the one with the red enameled exterior is the 3rd. class.

Other than that, I really can't find any other info in English that is helpful.

(And where are you getting all these Thai medals, anyway?)

I have a wonderful contact in Bangkok!

      Thanks!

    2. Through research I believe the offical title of this medal is: "Commemorative Medal on the Occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's Reign"

    3. Can anyone provide any information on the Thai Royal Cypher medals? I have found a few sites with some photos, but really not too much other information. I am intersted in the different variations, and classes there are...especially the Rama VI era.

If you could post any photos and info you have, I would really appreciate it! :D

      Thanks a bunch!

    4. Hi again everyone!

Can anyone tell me what the official size of the medals for 3rd., 4th., & 5th. classes of the Order of the Crown, & Order of the White Elephant should be? I know that 4th. & 5th. are identical except for the addition of the rosette to the 4th., and the 3rd. is on a neck ribbon, and a little larger in diameter, but what other difference in diameter (or anything else) are there...if any?

      Thanks again!

    5. In my book it is written, that to a medal identical, but are made of different metal. Indochina campaign - dark bronze. WW II - white. The Korean war and Vietnam - yellow.

      Hello!

I have never seen photographs of the Korean, or Vietnam, medals in yellow metal, only in white/silver. The Border Service Medal is in yellow/gold though.

    6. Hello Everyone!

I have a question about the various Thai Victory medals (WWII, Vietnam, Korean).

Is there a difference in the actual medal (or suspension device) of these medals (composition, size, verbage, etc.), or is the only difference between them the ribbon style?

Thank you in advance for any information you can provide!! :D

      Best regards,

      Jason
