Hi Naxos,
.... The Bavarian shoulder boards have been added and are not original to this tunic. ....... you know when they was added? I don't think this are bavarian shoulderboards!?
Maybe for a prussain Militär-Beamter (prussian Beamte had blue Durchzüge)!
The star is also for a Beamter, only the Wappen is missing! So the tunic is maybe
also for a Militär-Beamter!??????? I'm not sure, just an idea! Best regards,
Jens

Hi Speedy,
Artillery with the spike on the helmet must be bavarian-artllerie before 1916. I think that's a maneuver-picture around 1910 (+/- 5 years).
Best regards,
Jens

Hi,
there are some nice public records online (PDF-files):
- Verzeichnis von Trägern ausländischer Orden und Ehrenzeichen im Herzogtum Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha
- Verzeichnis über die Verleihung von Militärorden, Denkmünzen, Schnallen und anderen Dienstauszeichnungen
- Verzeichnis über die Verleihung ziviler Orden, Ehrenzeichen und Geschenken

Hi Terry,
sure, it's out from a small book (44 pages): "Deutsche Truppenstempel bis 1918 und Abkürzungen der Truppenteile" 2006.
But there must be another new and very good book about stamps: "Handbuch deutscher Waffenstempel" (440 pages):

... It's also possible that B.A.XIX. stands for the Betreibs Abteilung of the Eisenbahn (Railway) unit of the XIX Armee Korps.
The 2nd Royal Saxon Train Battalion No. 19 was part of this AK.
Hi Terry,
I don't think so, anything around Eisenbahn (Railway) was stamped with an "E".
But I'm not an expert! Best regards,
Jens

Hi Terry,
... unsure about the weapon number 13 though - I have seen another post elsewhere about a tunic with a BA XIX 18 marking so it could just be the year ....... I'm not really an expert on this, but I think the stamps for tunics and weapons are different.
In a tunic the stamp could be the year, but on a bayonet there is also an "Abnahmestempel" on the blade.
So I think the last number (for bayonets) is the weapon-number. Best regards,
Jens

Hi Chris,
I'm really not sure, but your stamp (maybe) means: "Bayerische 15. Regiment 3. Kompanie, Waffe 43" ????
And the other (maybe) means: sächsische Bekleidungsamt XIX, Waffe 13 ?????
Best regards,
Jens

Hi Christer,
Freikorps, with the oakleafs on the collar: Freiwilliges Landesjägerkorps or Freikorps von Hülsen or Freiw. Detachment Probstmayr or Freiw. 17. Inf.-Div. (General v. Held).
The guy with the oakleafs on the cap, I think that's earlier Reichswehr.
Best regards,
Jens

Hi Forseti,
you already have the regimental history or you can't find it in a book about german-tunics!?
The regimental history (PDF-file on CD-ROM) you will find here: Artikel-Nr.: 1185 Titel: Garde Infanterie Regiment Nr. 7 Preis: 5 €
Title: „Das 7. Garde-Infanterie-Regiment im Weltkrieg 1914-1918." (see: Literatur): GER 2 – GenWiki

His name is Kleinhauss from the town of Alsheim near Worms.
Hi Hardy,
I think his name is KLEINHANSS (there is no line over the "u"). The familyname (with double "s") still exsist in Germany.
And the name of the Kompanie-Führer is (maybe): ANDING: Verteilung des Namens "Anding" in Deutschland - verwandt.de

Hi Jens,
I have the Ehrenbuch downloaded, but the 1922 list I cannot seem to get to work?
Thanks
Chris
Moin Chris,
uppps: Trefferliste - DigiBib :: Digitale Bibliothek ... but that was just a link to a list from 1922,
so I think als informations (from this 1922 list) are in the book from 1928: Datei:Bayerns goldenes Ehrenbuch 1914-1918.djvu – GenWiki

Chip the left hand arms are described by Rentzmann's Wappen Lexicon as Saxony, Electorate which dates it prior to 1802, the right hand arms are more confusing because I can't find a coat of arms with a scimitar but certainly of Saxon origin.
Paul
Paul,
the Rentzmann's Wappen Lexicon is for coins, so I think you mean something like a this (*): 03629-WWW.jpg 800 × 400 Pixel
But I'm not sure that your coat of arms is a saxon!??? I can't find it here: Deutsche Wappen - SACHSEN
... or here: German Coats of Arms (Wappen) XVIIth Century A005
Best regards,
Jens
