Here's another new birdie for the nest - a nice example of the 2nd Pattern Assmann Pilots Badge, with an aluminum eagle and buntmetal wreath. An Assmann Pilot variant I've been looking to pick up for quite some time now ever since I saw your example JTW. Hope you all like it!

We could start a ?Picture of the month? competition but with work of this quality.... would the rest of us have a chance of winning?
Rich.
I know I couldn't come close! Great job Rich!

Superb Juncker ROAG Martin! Here's an alu example in my collection of a second pattern Juncker ROAG, just like your Pilot abzeichen! Gotta love the aluminums'...

Thank you all Gents! This was the third FLL example that I have encountered and was extremely lucky enough to find the best one of the three for sale. Needless to say there was no hesitation to pick this one up, although I DID pay a premium price for a zinker! Ahhh, no matter, gotta have these things...............

Hi Guys,
Just picked this one up. The GCB from the Linden company is not seen too often. Typical FLL hardware with rivited, slightly worn top eagle. Other than that, the rest of the badge is really A-1.

Hi Martin,
Great badge with no repairs - a sight not seen to often on alu badges! The case seems"different" to me. I like the texture and the overall look of it, just the lettering has me puzzled. I don't believe I've seen this style before. Very nice - congrats!

I think you've made the right desision. Better to acquire a piece that you're totally happy with, rather one that you'll always wonder about.
I agree - if you're not 100% comfortable with it and will always have that doubt in the back of your mind, it's best to bypass it and wait for another - heaven knows we've all done it a thousand times! Good luck and may it be a short wait for you Karsten.

Hi Guys
This arrived today and I really like it, and God know?s it?s been hard to find one. I?m not to happy with the solder thus. I have asked one of mu very knowledgeable friends and he thinks it looks like a sloppy job from the factory and it?s not a repair. that makes sense, because the finish is applied on top of the solder.
Would really like you to post yours and give your thoughts here.
Karsten
A little late Karsten, but just had the oppertunity to scan mine.

I think post #8 & #9 show that the soldering was factory applied, and then the middle portion was ground after the fact. Also the even finish in both areas (over the solder and ground region) suggests this too. Just my opinion

I agree - period badge 100%. I also agree that it is just a crappy soldering job and not a repair. I like it regardless of the soldering technique! I'll scan mine when I can get a chance.
